I almost forgot.....Today in 1934, Bonnie and Clyde were killed in a shootout with Texas Rangers. I believe there were also a couple of LA police officers there also.

Yep. This High Noon shit is for morons.
I have always thought that most westerns were pretty stupid when it came to gunfights. Why would anyone ever engage in a quick draw? Gangster movies are more believable. You shoot first and with as much firepower as you can.

Very few gunfights occurred like they do in the movies. Mostly, it was pretty sudden and informal. As long as both parties were armed, it was reckoned to be a fair fight. In other words, if you ran your mouth you had better be reaching for your gun while you did it.

Loki
I remember going to the Liberty Theater
where they had the bullet riddled ford they were killed in
lotsa folks thought that Bonnie and Clyde were heroes back then
and they mourned their loss
They were slaughtered without warning
did not have the chance to give up
course being who they were,
they probably would have said " go to hell"

really dunno Linda
but they gave to a lot of the poor people they came across
least thats what I was told
think I was 7 0r 8 thereabouts
of course robbing and killing is no way to be a hero

You cover both bases.. I have read and heard of what they did of course but I wasn't sure or never really saw how they could do what is said and yet be worshipped??
Must have been snowflakes back then too...

That was eastern style. Most times, most places, you draw and shoot. Very few gunfights were high noon in the middle of the street.

They were murdering psychopaths. The only problem I have with their demise is that is wasn't nearly slow and painful enough.
Or shot in the back or by ambush. Mike

Those were also popular. Many were just spontaneous affairs, couple of guys get in an argument. My point being that they were rarely arranged and choreographed like Hollywood would like you to believe.
