Furthermore, what would anyone expect of a detective investigating someone who may be guilty of Treason or some other crime involving US intelligence or a hostile foreign power? Does anyone honestly believe an investigator would oblige a suspect in a case like that with the truth about an ongoing investigation? Is anyone outside of Trump’s 30% of fascist racist supporters even remotely fooled by that? No.

Of course in that situation, Comey, like almost any police officer... would lie to a suspect like Trump, in order to keep them off guard.
