Department of Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly offered a very frank admission of the challenges he faces in combating the threat of homegrown terrorism.
Face the Nation host John Dickerson asked Kelly on Sunday if there are any lessons he took from last week’s attack in Paris, in which a police officer was gunned down by a French national with a criminal record.
“There are so many aspects of this terrorist thing. Obviously, you have got the homegrown terrorists. I don’t know how to stop that. I don’t know how to detect that,” Kelly responded.

The DHS secretary’s admission that he didn’t know how to approach the issue of homegrown terrorism prompted Dickerson to probe for more information.
“You said on the homegrown threat — a lot of people think that is the biggest threat. It was part of the San Bernardino shooting and part of the Boston bombing,” the CBS host said. “But you said you don’t know how to stop that. If that’s the biggest threat, and you don’t know how to stop it, that seems like a big problem.”
Kelly responded by admitting that homegrown terrorism is the “most common threat” facing the nation. He suggested the best method of combating the threat is to encourage citizens to say something if they see something.
“The appeal I would make on the homegrown threat is, if you see something, say something, whether you’re a parent, a sibling, an imam,” Kelly said. “And this extends, frankly, John, to white supremacists and those kind of — that kind of terrorism as well.”
“If you see a young man or a young woman going down that path where they’re always on these kind of websites or saying things at church or in a mosque that are clearly disturbing, then tell someone about it, so that we can help that kid, young man or woman, before they break the law,” he continued.
The DHS secretary also stressed the importance of building a wall on the southern border of the United States to protect the country against the threat of terrorism.

“It’s essential absolutely to control one’s border,” Kelly stressed.
“You have got other terrorist threats that come across the border.”
Kelly said the threat of terrorists targeting aviation “literally” keeps him awake at night.
“We know that would be the Super Bowl for the terrorists to knock down an airplane in flight, particularly if it was full of Americans,” he said.
“I focus on this aviation threat as something that is very real. And if they’re successful, they’re going to kill hundreds and hundreds of people in one fell swoop,” Kelly added.
Despite his admissions, the DHS secretary promised to keep the homeland safe under his watch.
“The number one thing in my mind is to protect the American people,” Kelly said. “So, we will do that.”

http://www.westernjournalism.com That's messed up!!!! Now what are we going to do? We have Terrorist coming into our Country, by the High numbers, and now our Natural Born citizen's are cutting lose in America. The Police are fighting every day and night, trying to keep things on the Straight and Narrow. I do believe that our Citizens are being trained by the Immigrant Terrorist every day, and we are hardly aware of the reality of this Hell and Destruction, right under our noses. Homeland Security needs to watch what's going on and do something to put an end to this Home Grown Hell. That's what they get paid for, now it is up to them to wise up and fix it. Our Lives are in danger every day. Who are we to look up to if Homeland Security is ignorant to it's job? What do y'all think of this problem?
