Innocent women and children are being slaughtered in many countries by all sorts of methods. So why Syria now? Or is it just the types of weapons used to slaughter them that matters?

Just this morning, ISIS claimed responsibility for 2 bombs in 2 Egyptian churches that killed 37 and wounded over a hundred innocent men, women and children worshiping Palm Sunday. Is the US going to attack Egypt and those responsible?

Is using conventional weapons to slaughter innocent women and children more acceptable that using chemical weapons? How many civilians has the US killed with its use of drones, especially in Yemen?

Or is it the reason innocent civilians are killed that matters?

Ghandi once asked, “What difference does it make to the dead, the orphans and the homeless, whether the mad destruction is wrought under the name of totalitarianism or the holy name of democracy?”

hprinze, The USA has jurisdiction in Syria. Assad is an accused war criminal. He has used internationally banned weapons of mass destruction against his own people. He has also lost whatever legitimacy to govern he had. Nobody elected this murderer to office. He would have been gone long ago if it were not for his buddies, Russia, and Iran. I've heard it argued many times that the inaction of the US, Britain, and the USSR helped cause the holocaust of millions of Jews, slavs, Gypsies and other minorities during World War Two. Those countries claimed that they never really knew about the mass murderers going on by nazi Germany and Japan. We no longer have that excuse. We all know exactly what is happening in Syria. The civilian population of that country is being systematically gassed by Assad with the blessing of Russia. This is an international crime of major proportions. The world can not stand by and say it is none of our business, because Syria is an independent country.
