Absolutely right! I have a dear friend, otherwise quite intelligent, who simply does not want to hear "stories" about our government. When others and I tell her that it is happening even if she prefers not to know about it, and it will hit her the same as it hits us (but that is not exactly true - it will be worse for her because she isn't mentally and psychologically prepared. Common sense seems to be something that cannot be learned.

Good question, so... I go to bing and type in "where did Syria get chemical weapons" and it gives me a lot of thing to read on the subject. Seems that Syria has its own chemical weapons program so the weapons didn't necessarily come from Iraq. They might have, but we don't know for sure. I'm not sure that the planes are a good analogy. Some were sent to Iraq in the Persian Gulf War but, I don't think that they got them back. In Iraqi Freedom, they disassembled a lot of the planes and hid the parts in the desert.




I honestly think that the deficits mostly belong to Congress. I mostly don't blame Reagan for tripling the national debt in his administration so I don't mostly blame Obama for the deficit doubling in his administration.

I'm not sure what you mean by "a few notches up." Do you mean less bad or worse? I don't know to what Holder scandal you refer. If it is the IRS, I'm not sure what the DOJ has to do with the IRS. I think that the IRS belongs to the Treasury Department. If you think that Holder should be impeached, I doubt it would come to that and that he would resign long before there was any kind of impeachment. There is no precedent for impeaching a President because of the actions of a Cabinet member. If that was the case, I think a lot more Presidents would have been impeached because there have been some really rotten Cabinet members in the past.



I don't hear Republicans saying anything other that "it's Obama's fault." I wouldn't be surprised that FOX started claiming that they have some climatologist who has claimed that the recent tornado's were caused by the moratorium on drilling that Obama put in place. It allowed all that pressure to built up don't you know. ;-)

Yes, Saddam was an asshole and deserved to die. That doesn't translate to we need to sacrifice over 3,000 American solders and spend $800 billion to do it. There have been heads of state in other countries who were much worse (remember Idi Amin Dada) and we didn't send in troops to enact a "regime change." The only justification for sending in troops is emanate danger and that didn't exists.

So, if no one should have to live under totalitarian dictatorship, I suppose that means you think we should go into N. Korea?

No, the comparison of the propaganda techniques used by conservative talk radio and FOX are very similar to those use by the Nazi propaganda machine. Both are based on fear and hatred.

There is no similar analogue in the rest of the media.

Yes, just dismiss the majority of the country as not getting it because they are not paying attention. That's fine because the majority of the country is dismissing cranks on the right who have lost contact with reality. The right insist that reality is whatever they want to pretend it to be like saying the Obama is a Muslim or a Communist or a Socialist or whatever even though the facts are overwhelming to the contrary. I suppose that saying that the majority of the country is wrong just goes along with the other delusions of the right.

When you get on a road and all the cars are going the other way, the one-way arrow is probably not pointing in the direction you are going. In such a situation, cursing all the other drivers for not paying attention is stupid.

Well, the way I look at it is, N. Korea is a threat to the world, that means AMERICA also, and we have the capabilities and intelligence (which other countries do not) to send in covert teams to take out the cause of the problem. Did we not do that with Osama? America has been cleaning up the corruption for the world in the name of freedom for decades -- why stop now? If that's the case, then we should have stopped before WW1.

Um, I have a real job. Pays quite nicely. I think that I have contributed to America in the electronics that I have developed over my career. I don't repeat lies and I request that other's don't either. That's why I have so many run-ins with conservatives who reject reality.
