Chuck Berry died today at age 90.
Chuck was great I loved watching him do the duck walk. Maybellene was one of my favorite.

Johnny B Goode has the be one of the greatest anthems of R&R. The man was a genius and a legend. He once played in an high school gym with a rope down the middle to separate the Black seating from the White seating. The audience was having none of it and took the rope down, and all began to dance together. The '50's rock legends did more to break down the racial barriers in this country that any politician ever did. Chuck Berry sent as powerful of a message as Martin Luther King did and he deserves just as much credit.

show quote)
We are loosing our true hero's of music and screen at an alarming rate lately. Unfortunately there is no one here now nor coming up that could possibly replace them let alone stand on the same pillar as them.
Another great one gone...but what a long and full life...he gave us a lot of incredible music!

We lost a true icon. The song Johnny B Goode influenced a lot of guitar players with that lead of his.
You won't find 'greats' in our new age, such as this cool cat, Him along with Fats Domino, Fats Waller, Cab Calloway, Ella Fitzgerald, And the list goes on, and on, and on.
Sorry to hear !!! One of the greats !!!
He was 1 of my favorites. I am glad he lived a long life.
