Well, if the ability to reproduce is going to continue to be used as an argument against same sex marriage, there should be a fertility test required of opposite sex couples. Maybe they should be required to sign an affidavit stating that they intend to have children and know of no reason why they can't. Or, marriages could be automatically annulled after, say 5 years, if no children are begotten. Ya think anybody would go for that? Reproduction either is or is not a basis for allowing people to marry. You can't have it both ways.
BTW, the issue is more complicated than same and opposite sex marriage. There are various physical and hormonal variations on male and female. Sometimes they are obvious and sometimes not. If we are going to concern our selves with who a male or female can marry, we also have to answer the question of who an inter-sex person can marry. While most identify as a male or female, some chose not to. It will come up. be prepared.

Why do gays make such an issue of gay marriage, some ask? Because everyone has a right to decide who their insurance will cover, and make difficult medical decisions for them if the need arises.
They have a right to be sure that their wills and bequests are honored if the pre-decease their life partners. Legally-protected marriages are (for the time being) the only way to guarantee that a person's interests will be respected and their wishes represented in such things. THAT'S why.
Where are the supporters of gay marriage when it comes to this issue, you ask? We're right here, and we're not going anywhere!

Our country was nearly destroyed when capitalism was taken to predatory extremes until FDR introduced reforms that put the brakes on these criminals.
New York banksters and their partners in crime on Wall Street didn't care about how they got their loot, or whether or not working people had food or a place to live. Hard-working Americans lost their jobs, were turned out of their homes, and faced extreme poverty in their old age.
Roosevelt saved our country's way of life at a time when democracy and freedom could have gone under. Many people don't know this, but a fascist coup very nearly succeeded in overthrowing President Roosevelt in 1934. The failed only because General Smedley Butler refused to co-operate with the conspirators, and refused to lead a military dictatorship for them and informed the President.
