Feeding the 5,000

This is the only miracle that the Holy Spirit put in all four gospels. It is in Matthew 14:15 - 21, Mark 6:35 - 44, Luke 9:12 - 17, and John 6:5 - 14. Another miraculous feeding is in Matthew 15:32 - 39 and Mark 8:1 - 9. In this one the multitude is smaller and Luke doesn’t mention it all. In all 5 miracles there is a multitude following Jesus that gets hungry but only a small boy has brought food. Jesus has the multitude sit in groups of fifty and beaks the bread and fish into small pieces. He gives the pieces to the disciples and His disciples feed the multitude. This must be the most important miracle because it is the only one in all four gospels. Some points we need to understand are Jesus speaks through His word. God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory. (You should supply your wants). God does not micro-manage. God does not save from tribulation but through tribulation. Acts 14:22 He does not tell us who to marry, where to work, where to park. Applying God’s word to your life will equip you to deal with every circumstance. God’s word is a shield, but a shield is useless if it is on the ground when the arrow is fired. God’s word s a light unto your feet and a lamp unto your path. Ever turned off the light while driving? You quickly turn them on to avoid an accident. God’s word can only help you if you read it. If you read it, it will help you make better decisions.
