I was saved by a dolphin and after that my mother took me to Sunday school. I basically told the teacher she was full of it and I didn't believe it. Needless to say, I was kicked out of the class. But I didn't hate God and I had an intuitive understanding of the scriptures. My pastor would ask me questions about the scriptures and I seemed to know the answers. I was abused by my older brother as a very young child.

Hated church and still do but now for different reasons. They don't do squat for virtue and are all about salvation even if the congregation is 100% saved. And this pretrib nonsense is just offensive as evolution is.

I guess my church was Charleston Hestin in The Ten Commandments and Ben Hur two of my all-time favorite movies.

I helped a girl get an abortion in college and regretted not trying to help her confront her parents, save the child and put it up for adoption but drove her to the clinic instead.

Most of my life rejected for being stupid but somehow along finding a relationship with God.

Taught evolution in college I didn't like it but could at that time find no reason to reject.

One of my most tramatic experiences in life was learning about the Holocaust watching a Walter Chroncrite show one Sunday and going to school on Monday looking at my classmates in third grade and remember seeing similar children being hearded into the gas chambers.

Anyway back to my personal guilt over the abortion I found forgiveness through Christ that upon realization the denying his sacrifice for me was a greater sin than the sin itself.

Mom had a simple Catholic faith and taught me how to love and respect others. Her mother to was a strong Christian. Kind but gentle.

In college I know they must of prayed a lot for me because I was pretty wild back then.

Well good night my Jewish friend.

You and I fight but I don't feel rejected by you.

Woops I better add that I am married to a good woman who really doesn't believe in God which makes me feel bad quite often but oh well...I still love her.

YAWN more later...LOL

I thought he was supposed to come back at the end of 1999? How long are you going to wait? I actually believe in Jesus's return, but he's coming back in the flesh. He's been reincarnated. This time, he will die by bursting into flames. Ezekiel 28:18-19. "...and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be anymore". Jesus will be the leader of the "sons of darkness" and the true Messiah will be the leader of the "son's of light". All other religions will disappear. If you cling to your idols till the end, you will burst into flames along with Jesus and cease to exist

You are a very twisted and ill person. You conclude facts from mere speculation on your part and attempt to justify a conclusion by quoting scriptures that have ZERO to do with your made up fictional conclusions. You have ZERO knowledge of either the Old or the New Testament. NONE. You are as I have made mention a VERY unsafe person to even be near.

Compared to the Original Statement given by the loon whom started this topic, "God is Energy", the "HE" part is about a moot issue. Sort of zero in on the fact someone is mentally ill enough to write off Jesus and say that God is Energy...like maybe your car battery or your cell phone???? That is the implication. I cannot even begin to address the rest of the insanity posted by such a loon. Can even a person whom is mentally ill come up with that much of being a lunatic? Perhaps actual physical BRAIN damage would explain it?

When the Messiah comes, all scripture will be fulfilled in his lifetime. Christians divide these prophecies into two groups. The suffering servant, and the conquering king. There is not a 2000 year gap between them. The Messiah will bring peace and righteousness to the earth, he will be called the "Prince of Peace". Isaiah 9:6. Jesus said he came not to bring peace, but a sword. He also didn't bring a covenant. Nice deflection. What does this have to do with my reply to your question about OT references of the Rapture?

If your church is all about salvation, you've got a good church, especially if it talks about prophecy. Over 1/4 of the Bible is prophecy.

And I guarantee that there isn't a any church that is 100 percent saved.

True very true but once you've saved...You're saved and there are other issues the pulpit is responsible for but neglects.

For example the author of the Second Great Awaking of America of 1825, Charles D. Finney a year before he died in 1874 wrote an amazing article in some New York publication about that very neglect were the Unitarian thinking and Transcendentalism of the time, had corrupted all churches and were now headed in the wrong materialistic direction of social Darwinism.

And yes 2/3rds of the sermons are about prophecy but the caveat there is also to be on guard against false prophets.

I therefore have always questioned with boldness any so called feel good doctrines like social justice, pro abortion or pre tribulation pap that the pulpit either ignores or refuses to address for attendance or popularity sake or worse yet advocates!

Again Charles D. Finney's admonitions are just as relevant now as they were then back in the 1870s!!!

But thanks for your input.

From a Bible believing saved Christian who believes there is a lot of work to be done yet,

Dave

Oh that's sure to open hearts and change minds!

This is a private conversation between just Sue and myself.

Please let me deal with it Mike ...I appreciate your efforts but I've been where this person has been many times in my life...And anyway your "on a mission" approach is going nowhere...Trust me on this one and if you do address her on something I'm not discussing with her please be more friendly, less snarky, and treat her with respect.

Sue may know more about certain things that you and I combined could ever imagine...So pray consider that possibility.

To choose the Jewish faith does not make her crazy and that's where your presupposition is in error.

The Jews are God's chosen people so please keep that in mind for Christ's sake.

Sue,

I apologise personally if what anything that I said here offends you and was not my sincere intention to patronize.

And if so I apologise for both Mike and my behavior.

God bless you both

Dave

WTF? PRIVATE? On a website the WORLD is able to read? Not hardly! Take it to Private Messages if you have a brain. Further if you read what "Susan" has posted, you are dealing with a idiot with a totally broken brain. Waste of time.

Private...Not and I agree with you and please don't take this personally because I know full well as you point out that this is indeed a public forum of shared ideas but you were being intrusive when you interjected yourself into our dialogue (IE: dialogue between two (2) parties) and that would have been perfectly acceptable but when you started implying that she was crazy you only accomplished two things:

A) You turned her off in a mean spirited way
B)Insulted the teachings of her faith no matter how missguided you "perceived" her personal arguments were.

Now I know Sue well enough to know she doesn't mind the agree to disagree approach but not being attached...And that's where you crossed the line on the intrusive issue in my opinion.

It is OK to tell her you disagree with her... She's no snowflake...But you need to make your case with the facts in a more polite and civil way point by point and give her a chance to respond before jumping to conclusions.

Hopefully you understand that and I believe in your heart of hearts that you actually do understand!

Anyway God bless and have a nice day😎☺

If you want a private conversation with her then contact her privately on the OPP. And my last comment to her was sincere and genuine. You are not going to help this woman thru an on line forum and this woman needs help.

I believe you mean that so I'll take that at face value. Thanx

Sue,

If you're listening in I'd be more than honored to correspond where we can agree to disagree without pulling any punches.

Do you have an anonymous post box number that you'd be willing to share with me?

If not I'll understand and leave you alone.

You probably think that both Mike and I are only a couple of jerks, and you probably wouldn't be far off in your assessment...

Anyway give me a call if you feel like it or are up to it.

Best regards,

Dave

PS: You too Mike

I have read completely through the NT three times. I have read the OT hundreds of times and parts of it thousands of times. I have a very good understanding of the scriptures and I can quote verbatim entire psalms, paragraphs, and chapters from memory. I also do not cherry pick and take verses out of context like Christians do.
