ALL THINGS CONSIDERED:
"If the public is willing to accept the seizure of private property in the name of the War on Drugs or the War on Terrorism, then we should not be surprised when government agencies do so. If the public is willing to grant the federal government powers that are clearly not found in the Constitution itself, the fact that the Bill of Rights legally prohibits such things will be of little consequence.
As written, the Bill of Rights is a beneficial summary of many of the limitations that should be placed on government power. Without a public rooted in an ideology that supports and demands respect for the Bill of Rights, however, the words will ultimately mean nothing at all."

The Bill of Rights still stands...it is how gross our elected officials and judges ignore the law that is the problem.

They ignore our constitution because the schools no longer teach it. And the people see judges abrogate it all the time so they think that is OK. Very sad.

It is because we do not attack and destroy the politicians,,,, your trying to tell ME (an indian) that the congress cant be trusted??????

But doesn't it all boil down to how the individual citizen must stay informed, knowledgable, and willing to stand up and fight for what they believe? If there was more of a public outcry and unwillingness to accept these court decisions and laws (Patriot Act, NDAA, etc), perhaps we as a nation would would not have ceded our rights to the courts and bureaucracy.

Well,,, I guess so,,, are you willing to fight for indian rights???? Cause we got a-s-hosed in the 1800's,,,, and it is now happening to the rest of you. Where should we start?

The Constitution starts off with~
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.~~
We also have the Declaration of Independence and the bill of rights all laid in foundation of why the English came here in their plight from the British tyranny of a dictatorship of government really...
After they endured it all it was the framers and people that wanted guarantee they would never fall again to a governmen of absolute control...
We ceded nothing to them...They, in these documents guaranteed what we spoke of most during that time.band what we agreed to, not what they said it would be.....
Government over reach and We the People have allowed them to trample over us and slowly started omitting the very things we fought to have..
Our obligation is enforcing our rights rather than simply accepting ....
Maybe in resounding rejection we just spoke of in this election politicians have learned the strength of the people and now understand we will stand against them if they do not do as expected!!
I certainly hope so..Dog them every day... Remove them from office when needed not just voting time and be heard all the time ...Challenge them!!
