I'm sorry but that is not correct. The government matches funds contributed to the campaign up to $250 per donation. It comes out of the $300 million set aside for candidates to run. So no, was are paying his salary. He is allowed to do so by law. It is public record. He also has a complete secret service detail that we, as taxpayers, pay for.

Rather, this footage was taken from Barack Obama's appearance on the show "The Author Series" on 20 September 1995 (long before he ran for the presidency) in which he read excerpts from his book Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance. The full clip shows that President Obama was describing a conversation he had with someone else about Malcolm X's beliefs, and that the "ribs and pussy too" line was spoken by another character in the book...

He supposedly wrote "Dreams...".
If someone could produce the entire speech, analysing the context would be very easy. I can read the book, I want to see the entire Speech. It's got to be out there.
