There's no proof that Trump is under an audit

Even if there is no prohibition on releasing his tax returns, there is no advantage for him to do so. And really, why do we insist on seeing them? Are there not important things to focus on? Say for example unemployment? How about the conditions in inner cities? Or Obamacare with insurance companies bailing out left and right....what are those who bought this 'insurance' going to do now? The depleted Social Security System? If you want to talk about money... then let's talk about the $$$$1.3 BILLION in CASH that obama gave to Iran after he paid ransom! One other thing... if killarry is elected.... will she have to eat her words spoken about President Putin?? Do you recall who he blamed for the protests in Russia.... and he is still holding a grudge! If she is elected... will we be back to cold war.... or perhaps dusting off the duck and cover?

So.... turning over tax forms so you can say that Trump paid too little or too much tax is real important....but, just as a reminder you elected an individual who refused to provide a birth certificate until after he was in office.... seems to me, the Constitution does not require disclosure of personal wealth or tax status, but it certainly does have a clause about citizenship.....

He cant release his taxes because they would be a source of his public humiliation for at least two reasons. The first is of course that he is a wealthy man who dodges his moral obligation to pay his fare share of taxes. The second is that Trump brags about his worth being far far greater than it really is and if his actual worth became public he would be proven a liar.

Par usuale, Kevyn twists anything to use it against Republicans, conservatives & libertarians. Last time I heard, income tax returns were PRIVATE contracts and agreements between citizens and the government. As such, no one is entitled to the information.

This is one of the reasons we need a flat tax....it would generate more income for our government the CPA professionals would suffer and it would decrease the IRS employees which would be a good thing!

Yes simplifying the tax code has several advantages. Less complication is less opportunity for abuse. More revenue to the government. Easier for the average american to comply. Funny how DJT is under audit in light of how we have seen this administration uses the IRS audit a way of intimidating its opposition.

Yea 6969, hillary holds quite a few records herself.....none of them flattering.

Politifact?? May as well use motherjones, the sources lean one way or the other.....Neither can be trusted for absolute honesty like days of yore I'm not that old, but remember a day when news outlets were fairly honest.....no more.

Okay.... so his lawyers sent a letter stating that he is being audited. Show me in the constitution where turning over tax returns is mandatory to become President. Sure most have released some of their tax returns for the past 40 years (from 1976), but it is not a requirement. Likewise, those running for president release their medical records... but, not everyone. There is no requirement for either to be released. You think it is a big deal? I recall Liberals saying that it was no big deal that obama did not release a birth certificate..... and proof of citizenship is required by the constitution....and if you recall, the long certificate he released AFTER his election was photoshopped. So... tell me again....what LAW is Mr. Trump breaking?

No laws are being broken....he should still do the same as every presidential candidate has done in the last 40 years....why do you take him at his word for everything?....the majority of the country wants to see his tax returns released...it's lame...and will hurt him

Excellent there Pennylynn.
And there is this; income tax returns are private communications, contracts and agreements between citizens and the government. As such, no one is entitled to the information.
