(My response to LBOH's topic, as I am still censured on his ignore list and unable to respond there.)
"Troublingly, being pro-life in the U.S. can carry career penalties, too. Pro-life applicants to medical school often get screened out. Anti-lifers are insisting that aborting babies is somehow “health care,” so pro-life medical personnel should have to leave the field of medicine.
In a recent example of persecution of pro-lifers—Illinois pediatric nurse Sandra Mendoza is suing the Winnebago County Health Department. She says, after 18 years of service, it ordered her to take part in training for referring for abortions and for providing abortifacients such as Plan B, or be demoted. Mendoza refused and was fired. Mendoza says, “Nursing is more than just a job, it is a noble calling to protect life and do no harm. There is something terribly wrong when you are forced out of your job on account of your commitment to protect life.”
Unfortunately it’s not hard to imagine Biscet uttering these same stirring words in Communist Cuba."
THIS is what you call "persecution?"
I call bullshit.
SHE REFUSED TO LEARN HOW TO DO HER FUCKING JOB! So she was fired.
Who imagined 18 years ago that County Health Department employees would be required to keep themselves current with medical practices and health related issues regarding human reproduction in order to serve their clients? Poor thing had no idea? No notice? No accommodation? No time in 18 years to find a more personally suitable employment?
No citizen is guaranteed a job free of personal conflict. In fact no citizen is guaranteed any specific job.
All citizens have the right to pursue happiness. In pursuing her happiness she came to a choice. She chose. Some choices are mutually exclusive.
That is not persecution, that's life.

The biblical response to doctrinal conflict with unbeliever's where their ethics are not appreciated and their exhortations are unheeded, is to LEAVE, not hang around whining. Just LOOKS bad!
Matthew 10:14
If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town.
Also, as to the point of employers who have power over an employee due to the very nature of the employer-employee relationship, it is the Christian's DUTY to dissolve that bond. So, at the point that this nurse realized that this irreducible conflict with her employer existed, it was HER duty to resign. According to the scriptures.
II Corinthians 6:14
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
Why is the biblical promise they will be persecuted by evil folk so titillating to the American Christian that they continue to shoot themselves in the foot, then blame others for their discomfiture?
THIS is persecution
THIS is hubris, and unscriptural.
Nice to see that you enjoy talking to yourself so much! Makes you look a little crazy, but hey! Whatever cocks your pistol!

Well it's only because there are so many on the right will little balls themselves and if you won't agree with them they put you on ignore. Myself I think it is nothing but a childish response to not being able to win an argument plus Little Balls had taken it a bit further and now claims that since there is no rebuttal he wins all his arguments. That simple illustrates the desperation some have in their need to win. And of course, if the thinks this critique wrong he is always welcome to come here to debate. I doubt you will see that happen though as Singularity's intellectual pistol is most definitely cocked...

A lot of people refute the Bible, easy peasy! What
I do is use the Bible to refute conservative Christians' hypocritical bullshit and intolerant and unscriptural encroachment into secular areas.
Sometimes.
Other times I watch tv and couch dance.

Its easy for anyone who wants argue to find thing to argue about. But u have no understanding of the Bible. Easy peasy? Realy? Ur just proving how dumb u are. Find a house that teaches the whole Word of God, submit to Gods authority and learn. Then u will have something to say.
