It has become a habit of the left to target guns and the NRA after a shooting, but why is this case different?

Easy.

This is a typical weekend on the streets of Chicago, Obama’s hometown.

“At least 18 people have been shot so far this weekend and six of those victims are dead.

“Two security guards were called to a large outdoor party at a housing complex in the 1300 block of West Hastings. Someone started shooting and a 24-year-old man was shot in the back and killed. The two security guards were wounded.

“Officers received a call of shots fired in the 4800 block of West Monroe in Austin just before 5:30 a.m. Saturday and found a 23-year-old man lying face down, police said. He was shot several times and was dead at the scene.

“One man, 29, was shot in both thighs, his hand a forearm. The other man, 30, was shot in the hand. Both were taken to Stroger Hospital where their conditions stabilized, police said.

“The Cook County medical examiner’s office did not confirm the two most recent deaths Saturday morning.

“Two men, both 19, were in a vehicle in the first block of South Springfield in West Garfield Park about 1:30 a.m. when they were shot, police said.

“One man was shot in the abdomen and was dead at the scene, police said. The other was shot in right leg and listed in good condition at Mount Sinai Hospital.

“Late Friday, a man was fatally shot in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

“The 22-year-old was shot in the neck about 10:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of South Kirkland, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.”

You won’t hear any disparaging words about the NRA. Nobody will lament how easy it is to legally purchase a firearm. It won’t even get a passing glance from the media. The lives of those murdered will not be remembered in widely-broadcasted memorials. Perhaps even more disgusting than that is the reason why: Progressives have done all they can to turn Chicago into a Democrat-controlled leftist utopia, and it has failed.

Not even Black Lives Matter could be bothered to comment on the killings, almost as if it doesn’t matter to them.

In a society where the easiest and most widely-accepted reaction to firearm-related deaths is to point to the nearest Republican and scream bloody murder, why is that not even being attempted here? Do the lives of these people not matter simply because they live in a real world example of gun control’s short-comings?

The struggle of those living in crime infested Chicago neighborhoods to make it through the day without becoming the target of some gang member with something to prove is being overlooked in favor of the opportunity to capitalize on fear and desire for safety, no matter its form. Because of the strict gun control laws, a single mother can be gunned down on the way to one of her three jobs because she has no way to defend herself, meanwhile criminal activity involving firearms flourishes because the bad guys have a whole town of disarmed citizens to victimize.

But again, you won’t hear about any of this from self-righteous anti-Second Amendment groups like Moms Demand or Everytown. It simply doesn’t it their agenda.

Instead, these people – ignoring the blatant failings illustrated by Chicago and Detroit – try to sell us gun control measures in the name of “safety” and “protecting the children.” They try to convince you that the same laws that are allowing the murder of women and children in a different city will work for you. They can’t allow you to see the brutal, bloody truth behind the curtain.

The truth is that nobody is raising a fuss over these shootings because they have no use for them. They can’t prop the dead up as victims of “gun culture” because the opposite is true; they’re victims of the very policies that were enacted for their “protection.”

That is the real crime.

Sad but true. We need to understand however that many if most of the calls for gun bans are more aspirational to an end to the mass killings than an end to gun ownership. Most of these folks are just confused and frightened. If they could be assured that there was a plan in place to vet crazy people before allowing gun ownership a lot of this opposition would go away. If gun owners formed a National Union that a declined applicant could appeal to in the event of a rejection that would go a long way to alleviate gun owners fears about confiscation. The NRA could play a role in this but not yet. First they need to free themselves of the taint of political partisanship. All the parts for a solution exist.
It just needs a visionary leader to assemble and make it work.

Here we go again. Always the same response. The combined stupidity of the left is never more apparent than when there is some kind of violent tragedy that takes place on US soil, particularly when it involves guns.

Forget for a moment the shooter did not obtain the weapons illegally or through some mythical gun show loophole. Omar Mateen shot and killed those people with a gun bought legally.

stop to think even for a moment, terrorists — particularly those inspired by ISIS — don't give a damn at all about gun laws? Mateen set out to commit a heinous act of terrorism. His goal was to kill gays

So you choose to blame the NRA. Why not blame the terrorist. Or the FBI who interviewed this freak three times and then closed the case. No way can you blame obama. Hell, He could have stopped these ass holes long ago.

The news is the senate will be voting on numerous anti gun agendas today any you know they are all for our rights and the Supremos have already disposed of that nasty second amendment thing, since they did in Scalia there is nothing stopping the elitist right hand now from finally taking down the last freedoms of America. What amazes me is that even the so called do goobers have no idea of the problems nor history, more aid and abetting than anything useful for the security and safety of the US. This country as was all other country's were much safer before any of these anti gun laws were enacted as they have always been for the purpose of disarmament of the people. Remember an armed society is a polite society.
