Ya withheld, did you million? Forget there are women who also read these threads? Meet me at the OK Corral? Shows your intelligence, yes, it does.

A good source of reference, certainly. Another Quote sure to anny shanksamillion, is this one : "The right of the citizens to keep and bear arms
Has justly been considered, as the paladium of the liberties of the republic; since it offers a strong moral check against the usurpation and arbitrary power of rulers; and will generally, even if these are successful in the first instance,
Enable the people to resist and triumph over them" . U. S. Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story, 1833. ANOTHER Reference book to read is, The Origin of the Second Amendment. By David E. Young..

You are welcome, is it Sir, or Ma'am? I enjoy helping people that are sincerely interested in studies of the Constitution. And the Bill of Rights. I will go so far as to say, that if someone was intended in buying their first firearm, and asked me for advice, I would do my best to help them. The first thing I would do, is to instruct them on the ten rules of firearms safety. If their interest is genuine, I might even offer to take him, or her to the range. And let them actually fire some of my pistols, to help them with making the choice of what they would be most comfortable owning for themselves. And refer them to a good instructor for more thorough training.

The Sir question was just a formality. Really. I too was an enlisted serviceman. I got my first rifle at age 8, and got to fire my father's 1911 the next summer. He shot in competition before I was born. I still have one of his awards. I myself earned Sharpshooter the first time I shot for record, in R.O.T.C. in Highschool back in the '70's.

I am also an N.R.A. Life member. And I advocate that anyone else that reads these posts to join, as well. Those that are genuinely interested in rational discussion. I did get to talk briefly with Mr. LaPierre, at a signing of his fist book.
And hear President Heston speak at the '99 membership meeting.

Nice to meet you, as well. I will continue to stay in contact with you through this post site. Since you gave some of your background here, I thought you might like some of my background, as well. The part of your Boy Scout experiences remind me of my first hunting trip back in '71. I went to the convinience store to get cigarettes for my father, for the drive. I was almost back to the house, before I realized that I had my father's Colt cobra on my hip.nobody thought anything about it then. I was 16 at the time. Some people now would probably get upset about that now. Blessed Be.
