The Constitution is only as great as those who defend it. We have a Supreme Court who does not believe that the document is worth defending.

before we condemn the supreme court lets wait until after it goes into effect and harms someone to see if Roberts was being clever or a traitor. remember this bill started in the senate and that is a no no for a money bill and he did declare it a tax

Not one dime of tax will be added, now they want to spend up to 7 million to find ways to make it work better, better hope this doesn't see the court any time soon.

Even people who wanted Obamacare could not explain what the hell Roberts was talking about. Roberts is supposed to interpret the Constitution, not write new passages into it,

The checks and balances and blurred. The house is doing what it should, some of the time. The problem is that the republicans get the blame for most of what happens whether it is their fault or not. The checks and balance do exist. The problem is when the house uses the system they get blamed for being racist, obstructionists, holding the people hostage...ect.

All of which are BS. It is what they are suppose to do if they don't feel like what is being done is good for the American public. I think what is going on is a political coup. It is being carried out by the democrat party for what ever the Presidents agenda is. I know, it sounds like a conspiracy theory. But, if you look at the tactic's they are meant to destroy the Republican party, which would effectively make us a one party country. Much like Europe, where conservatives still run but never win.

How can the Constitution be out dated? It's the Law of the America Government. The Constitution is the Law between the Government and the America's Citizens. It lay the ground work What Our Government can Force on us, as Americans, the other part lay out the ground work and rights for American Citizen. Like the First Amendment, Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of Religion, or Prohibiting the Free exercise thereof. It also, gives you Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press. Second Amendment, give the American Citizens to carry and bear arms for the security of a Free State and Nation. The amendment go on and on. Everyone In American should be required to Read The Constitution of the United States of America and Declaration of Independence every five years to keep it fresh in their mind how the U.S. Government should operate and as a Citizen your Rights of Freedom. As you can see, 99% of Americans have not read ether one because no one understands it. Just like the Democrats are always trying to Take That Freedom Away. What people don't understand is, Our Government cannot take it away from US. To try to do it, it would take two thirds of each state to change The Constitution. That makes it impossible to do. Obama and the Democrats thinks they can just pass a bill and do away with anything in the Constitution or The Declaration of Independence that they want but, it's not that easy. Obama and the Democrats thinks Americans are Stupid and they know no one know the Law of The Land in America. But, just like what is going on now in our Government, there are hardly any Americans Standing Up and Try to Force Our U.S. Government to follow the Constitution. Obama and the Democrats Break the Law Daily. So, What are YOU going to do About IT????? As most Americans, unusual NOTHING.

Reading the federalist papers, and the anti-federalist papers, would be a good read. I have read them once and am going through them a second time.

I agree. The Constitution is not outdated. But when it comes to change, it's to be voted on, not changed on the whim of a political party as has been the practice. When any politicians hit a wall trying to change the Constitution they always claim that the document is outdated hoping they can get around any obstacle in their path so they can continue ruining this countries time proved laws of government. Through their greed and irresponsibility, they have walked us down a path that should have been avoided to begin with. They continue to move foreword on said path due to lacking the ability to use hindsight. Sorry, I haven't had my first cup of coffee yet. God Bless America

The President, Senators, House Reps, and Supreme Court Judges who do not respect, defend and work under the U.S, Constitution are what is outdated.
The most important change to the Constitution I can think of, which would also be difficult to see Congress passing would be term limits for Congress and the Court.

I will say it again. Every generation has to defend that piece of paper. Because without defenders, a piece of paper is all it is.

We all know that Democrats when in power will appoint worthless hacks to adulterate and contaminate the words. The disappointment is when Republican appointed Justices betray their Country.

you got it right. But we have to be careful, if we lose the constitution then we lose all we have.

I think it has been the Democrat goal since early 1900's to destroy the constitution and make us a dictatorship.

Wow! If ever there was a comment that would destroy a poster's credibility, this would be it!

Wow if there ever was a poster who cannot tolerate an opposing viewpoint, you would be it. Ahh, well I remember the good ole days when Liberals and radicals were in the minority. I remember good and old Hillary going on a total rant that she was allowed by the Constitution to voice dissent. She was stung by people criticizing her for her hypocritical opposition to the Iraq War.

My, My how things have changed. Now that Liberals rule the Earth they cannot tolerate dissent. Funny how that DC official was fired for disagreeing with Obama's fix for Obamacare. Then there was the rodeo clown who got fired for wearing an Obama mask. I wonder what Liberals would have said if a clown was fired for a George Bush mask?

The Constitution, this is for you ignorant America haters, was largely a protection for minorities against the tyrannies of majorities.

I pray for the day Liberals are once again a minority and rediscover the wonders of Constitutional protections.
