ST. CLOUD, Fla. (AP) — Police in central Florida say a mother mistook her daughter for an intruder and shot her to death.

St. Cloud police Sgt. Denise Roberts said Wednesday the mother was asleep when she heard someone enter her home late Tuesday.

The mother told police she heard footsteps approaching quickly so she fired a single shot. She then discovered the person was her 27-year-old daughter.

The daughter was taken to a hospital where she died.

St. Cloud Police officials say they aren't releasing the names of the mother or daughter since a person in their household is in law enforcement, and Florida law permits the withholding of identities in such cases.

Detectives are investigating the case but say so far the mother's story matches the evidence

So, how many times are you going to post this story? What? Not getting the results you wanted?

Parents accidentally drive over their kids in the driveway on occasion too. Are you proposing we outlaw automobiles?

This is just another story and it seems you have managed not to read any of them and to not learn anything.

If the incidence of running over children with are cars would, would it be ok to increase the number of our children that we shoot to death? I am proposing that we reduce the number of people we kill with guns. We have to have cars, but we need guns for hunting, target shooting, collecting and for shooting other humans including our children. I would also sadly add that there are a few places in America Where I would want a gun for protection, but I would want some regulations that are not presently on the books and I would want them for obvious reasons, obvious reasons for normal people.

I think you are confusing yourself with the voices in your head. I think there are several things that would dramatically reduce gun deaths in America. One of the first and most obvious would be required successful completions of a fire arms class on safety, proper use accuracy of the weapon they are purchasing and periodic refresher courses. Our law enforcement people have required refresher and accuracy classes to insure effective and proper use.

I know two women who have guns and they are dangerously ignorant of how, when, where and safe use them.

Awareness of and prevention of the killing or our children doesn't sound to me like a rant, it is not only a liberal issue and it certainly makes sense to sensible people.

Reposting the same story does nothing to further your cause. On the contrary, it may actually have a negative impact.

I suppose they should outlaw mothers. After all they do have men getting pregnant. So mothers will not be missed all that much. http://www.hngn.com/articles/150984/20151116/transgender-man-gives-birth-years-transitioning.htm

How really screwed up is the world getting?

Doctors kill 2,450% more Americans than all gun-related deaths combined... should we outlaw doctors? This is especially amazing, given that there are just under 700,000 doctors in America, while there are roughly about 80 million gun owners in America. More children die in unattended swimming accidents than by guns. Horseback ridding also kills an equal share.... Most deaths by gun is self inflicted, suicide. Perhaps we should do away with sex, guns, rock-n-roll and live in bubbles. http://www.naturalnews.com/038889_doctors_guns_statistics.html

And I know at least twenty that are excellent shots, in heavily competitive exhibitions. Several are NRA certified safety instructors and at least three have shelves full of medals from shooting sports groups. You probably know several women who can't drive a car well either.
