You know people would claim that this is rewritten history, it doesn't match the primary school version that was spoken through the rest of a public school track back in the 1960s. It CAN'T be so. ;)

We can only accept the PG version of history, otherwise we will have to admit that we are as bad as everyone else.

I got a kick out of that line concerning our lack of awareness about HOW Squanto learned English.
It is true, isn't it? We are so confident that people would and could just CHOOSE to be like us that we don't give a thought to how that would be.
Not that one would expect small children to think about this; what age should children be able to think critically about these facts?
If I remember it was at the fifth grade level that the school system my children were in claimed that they were moving into critical thinking.
Wouldn't that be the time to start expanding exposure to fact based history?
According to my granddaughter that didn't happen in her class. Too bad, it seems like the perfect opportunity to avoid this silly accusation that people are "rewriting" history.
Maybe for the next generation.

We can't give children too much, but we should not just lie to them completely.

Yes, I was trying to make that type of point to vernon the other day in a comparison of US timeline and and Sudan.
This was not so lovely. Ignorance at the pinnacle of Christian belief.

More people are opening their eyes, but the indoctrination is deeply rooted and will take a lot of time to undo.

Yes, one step at a time, I suppose.
LOL, that same granddaughter has totally misconstrued the truth of Rosa Parks being chosen as the better rep for the bus strike.
I will have to straighten that out, just not on T'Day.

Interesting that you should call it a lovefest. Is that what you think you are having when you have an exchange that has more than 50 words in it?
Or is it just REALLY important for you to be able to deny that you are being insulting while demeaning other people's conversations?

if you believe we are as bad as the other world nations maybe you should spend a little time in china or heck italy and find out how bad it can really be.even though with your thoughts on government im sure you would love it.

as far as the 50 word thing, opp should limit folks to 25 words or less .

It might be better if we needed to put more than one hundred words.
That way rather than ugliness we might get some thoughtful exchanges.
