I do and frankly, I am so fed up with the Obama administration that I would gladly help lead the revolt. Obamacare caused a letter to sent to my father explaining he was no longer eligible for his free immunosuppression medication, which he has to take in order to live. He is not eligible because he has Medicare and they consider that insurance. My father is disabled and my mother is disabled. My father is a Vietnam vet as well. The new law goes on to state that only those with zero insurance will receive the free program medication. So, how is a disabled person on a fixed income supposed to afford this when it will cost him an extra $500 a month now. They cannot get Medicare part D because they make too much... I assure you their SSI benefits are not very much at all and yet they make too much. Sadly, this is only the icing on the cake. My father runs out of his medication in a month. Then what? Is he just supposed to go without the medicine, have his body reject his liver shortly thereafter, go into acute liver failure along with mass end-organ failure, give up and die. I THINK NOT!

It is a very frustrating situation for your family as a whole. I have zero answers but a few suggestions.

Is there a VA Facility in close proximity to his residence?

Is there a city or county program available in his area of residence?

Does the pharmaceutical company who manufacturers his medication have a subsidy program available?

Does the pharmacy from whom he obtains his medication have any Rx Programs available they can sign him up for? I do know Safeway has some type of Rx program the pharmacists are aware of and will enroll a customer for.

Yes there is a VA hospital close and there is nothing they can do. His transplant surgeon is in Memphis. Also, the drug program is with the manufacturer and coordinated through his physicians office in Memphis (We live in central Mississippi). The letter was from the manufacturer stating he would no longer qualify for their program because of the Affordable Healthcare Act. They offer a $200 discount card for the drug, which he also does not qualify for because he has Medicare part A and B. He will run out of his medicine at the end of December, so now we are racing against the clock to find help after Obamacare has canceled his drug assistance for this medication.

Check with one of the chain pharmacies or grocery stores. It is time consuming; however, you may find something. I am BEYOND frustrated. I took a break to find the name of an Rx Program. I cannot find it. When I get my filthy little paws on it, I will send it to you in a PM. It may not be tonight; however, it is on my list of things to accomplish.

Oh bless you. He currently uses CVS. We are going to try to find out if Costco ships medication and if they will be cheaper.
