Somewhat similar to 'In God We Trust,' and 'under God' being added to our currency and Pledge of Allegiance, respectively, many decades after their inception. In the case of U.S. paper currency, the words 'In God We Trust' did not become official, I believe, until the 1960s, although the phrase was issued on coins since the Civil War. BTW...thanks to you, Loki, for these occasional 'dates in history' threads. I, for one, enjoy them.
I don't usually follow things like movie stars, and crap like that. Military and Political History still fascinate me. Did I tell you I had my first heart surgery on December 7th? I figure I'm just lucky that I did't have a Doctor Yamamoto as the lead surgeon.
