Could be any number of reasons. You could start by going to speedtest.net and checking your connection speed.

Do you have a firewall? I've used one called tiny personal firewall. It provides complete control over traffic on your computer. You'll be able to set up a list of sites that are allowed to access your PC. I believe you can also block stuff like banner adds. It's free. Give it a try.

Do a Google search on best free firewalls. Or paid ones, if you can afford it. Look at the features and reviews, then pick one. Good luck

Something else you might want to try. I believe you can change your browser settings so that it won't load images, such as gif's and what not. You'd have to google how to do it on your browser. They're all different. You might also think about trying another browser. There are websites that compare the fastest ones.

I think I found the problem... a bug in Adobe reader... something downloaded like 200MB into adobe so I uninstalled then reinstalled fresh and seems like we are good ... I think it came with a auto update I did not want with adobe flash

Good deal. Mine's been acting up too. Think I'll try that.

Avast Internet Security is an excellent program.
I rarely open youtube links on this board, and even more rarely do I post them.
The best way to avoid contact with viruses associated with YouTube videos would be if the administrator of this board would format the site so that the video could be posted directly. On other forums, the posting format is no different than the other functions, such as
bold and
italics. The video would actually be on your OPP screen and can be played without clicking a link. The reason this works is that the viruses are embedded at the website where the video is posted, they are not embedded in the youtube URL.
