Part of the PC BS? any way, son in army today (12 yrs now, three Iraq, 2 Afghanistan) Left because of the "PC BullShit he said was going on. Told me several years ago, if I was in Army today I would have been Court Martialed.

Why you old man you must be as old as I am since I started college in 1950. Things certainly were different in the Army back then, weren't they. I never felt compelled to shy away from chaplains or to attend their services.

As you say, PC has done a lot toward the destruction of the United States and it is progressives who brought it all upon us.

The worst part of it all is that although progressives brought it all upon us many of those who accepted what they brought didn't have any understanding about what was going on and most still don't.

I know. I've had otherwise intelligent people tell me, "I don't want to hear it. I don't like hearing about those things. It sounds too crazy to be true." To myself I wonder if they'll like living it better than they like hearing about it? Selective stupidity is what I call that attitude.

It wasn't until about 15 years ago, that I started to catch on that something wasn't right with our government. Very gradually I caught on and I have been actively involved since then. Prior to the awakening, I felt I didn't have time to worry about politics, boy, was I wrong. I think most of us got caught up in our work and families and just plain didn't pay attention.

I think you can forgive yourself - it isn't easy to get the real skinny on what goes on in government. There are layers and layers, everyone goes for "deniability", everyone constantly tries to cover his a$$, the press covers for their favorites, lies about their opponents. At least half of what you read is lies, the other half is unknown quantity. I believe they all argue for publication, yet all hang together to prevent hanging separately. I believe so much power that they long for (NOT granted by the Constitution) totally corrupts the best of them and there is nothing they won't do to protect their turf. NOTHING.

I'm happy you saw the light. It's been flickering now for about a century, and the press has been covering FOR the progressive politicians as they are on the same side. Don't ask me what is so great about these people that the press is even interested, but power produces more power - and envy and jealousy. Hang in there for you certainly are not alone!

Most likely none of us will hang alone. I understand that FEMA has purchased guillotines for use at the re-education camps. Those of us they don't outright kill may individually get a taste of the falling blade. And guess what, I heard they were made in China, go figure!

You unfortunately are like so many others of your age group. Not involved in politics. We often forget the right saying of,"ALL THINGS ARE POLITICAL".
I am as some have suggested older then some on here (will be 79 in Oct of this year) But back to the point...When Johnson became President (I was a conservative Democrat) When he came out with his,"Great Society" BS. I said to myself Good GOD Almighty this is pure socialism. And I left the party. And after a long career in Law Enforcement, I entered Politics as a member of the NH House (4 years) Met with President W Bush and others and after studying his ter and others before and since, I realize almost to a T both parties are very similar. Both want a world order, both want UN in place and the Fed and other social programs and on and on.. Both parties have moved us closer to the European type socialism such as France and Spain have. I believe both are wrong And like so many others old or young I am looking for better. I am looking for those that read and understand our founding documents and want all to live by them.
Sorry for the rant did not mean to go off like that Any way... U get my meaning I hope. Thanks

Has it ever occurred to you that I really like to annoy you? Yep, and it works so very well since I have been at it with leaners for a very long time and they always react the same way.

In reference to Alene's post lets take that bird flying left all the time when using only his left wing. Now lets apply that analog directly to leanrs. As the military demands the first step is always on the left foot but they want you to march left, right, left, right, left, right and so on. You left leaners only have the ability to march left, left, left, left, left and that causes you to drag your right leg and go in continual circles.

I knew we were very much the same when I called you as old as I am. I voted for LBJ because he was a Democrat and so was I. I was still too liberal in thought but when the Dems nominated the admitted socialist, George McGovern the next time around I switched parties pretty fast. I am like Yankee Clipper in that I just didn't really take part in politics till that time, and am not proud of it.

You are so right about both parties being the same in what they see as their right to power. If, somehow, the GOP could shed the establishment people who run it and go with some of the younger ones I think we may be able to get out from under all they have brought on us.

As to us leaving our particular political parties? I have found The following words, usually attributed to Sir Winston Churchill to be right on. "If you're not a liberal when you're 20, you have no heart. If you're not a conservative when you're 40, you have no head." I say attributed to him as searching the various quotes of or from him, some are not sure he is the correct author. Any way, it is very true about yours truly.

I don't take offense easily so you did not offend me, what I said was what happened, I can't undo it, so now I am trying to correct it. Probably a case of too little, too late.

I am looking for those that read and understand our founding documents and want all to live by them.I've learned a lot by steady reading, I particularly like Frederic Bastiat, he is particularly hard on socialism. I also read some Marx writings, Saul Alinski, Cloward and Piven, and a little Hegel, who I confess confuses me. I try to keep up with what the enemy is up to.

I've learned when I was wrong and got my clock cleaned by liberals, it happens, but it was a learning experience. No harm, no foul.

Understood. I use to be a heavy reader like yourself but recently I have not come across any really good books that have triggered me to start again. Of course with the internet etc... that maybe a reason most people do not read as we use to.
Two books I have just received but have not as yet opened are:The complete Infidels guide to the Koran by Robert Spencer

and the other is:The Manchurian President by AAron Klein

I'd like to get my hands on a copy of "Prairie Fire" by William Ayers, yea that Ayers. It really rare and hard to find. I believe it will tell a lot about the powers that be's mindset.

For books relating to Islamist activity I have found Andrew McCarthy to be quite informative. He is the federal prosecutor that tried the "Blind Sheik", orchestrator of the first World Trade Center bombing. Recent works: Spring Fever: The Illusion of Islamic Democracy, The Grand Jihad: How Islam and the Left Sabotage America . He is not to be confused with another Andrew McCarthy that writes travel books.

You may (or may not) be interested in a paper I have posted at http://cedarstrip.wordpress.com/ If you read it I'd be interested in an oldsters opinion. I'm only 70.
