Race is Central to the Fear and Agnst of the U.S. Right!
Those seeking to understand what drove the Republicans to shut down the government this month in a strategically disastrous move that laid bare it's deep internal divisions-and ultimately led to humiliating defeat- can do no worse than start here. This report reveals a sense of idealogical, demographic and cultural siege, on the American Right, from which there is no obvious escape!

However, there are no stupid, ignorant, racists in the progressive movement right?
Some of the worst Anti Semites can be found in the African American community.

There are several, but none who are as prevalent as in the right-wing movement, which of whom actually flaunt their ignorance!
Ever notice when the left have no facts they resort to name calling!

You mean at seeing it in posts like yours, just takes a little thought actually. You seem to have the most posts on this site with about the smallest grain of truth and among the largest proportion of epithets and immature comments.
Here are two very legitimate articles on the Tparty destructive actions and Conservatives in general, both are well written and telling, if you really do want to read and understand do so, if that is not just a forlorn hope, an impossible dream!
don't rate the chances high, most of you seem to prefer the bubble articles on Obama being a Muslim etc that makes you, well, legitimately look rash and silly and people like Rayan can't help but notice if they have an open mind.
Ever notice the source of proof pasted to each post!

Fareed Zakaria? Really?
The Tea Party stands for fiscal sanity and border security. Those are the 2 main issues. Now as we have passed the shut down issue we are still left with the Obamacare disaster where a one year delay would have been a very prudent act and we have surpassed 17 trillion in debt with no end in sight. Obama is said to be pushing harder for amnesty which will add yet another 11.7 Million to the uninsured we will pay for. Lighten up? I suggest you smarten up.
If you oppose border security and fiscal sanity you are probably an extremist.

Everybody here (on both sides) seems to be missing the main point.
17 Trillion dollars in national debt is only a small part of the equation. It is the Unfunded liabilities that is killing us.
http://usdebtclock.org/Look at that bottom line, $126 trillion and growing a million dollars every 10 seconds.
17 + 126 = 143.....that's 143 trillion right this second, and growing rapidly. Both sides are to blame for this, as neither side wants to address the political hot potato (except for the Tea Party- unfortunately it's too late).
We have already gone over the fiscal cliff, smooth sailing until we hit bottom.
Tim is correct and the more power Democrats get the closer we will come to a total welfare state

From the very start of the healthcare debate that began after Obamas inauguration in 2009, the tea party Republicans have believed some preposterous things. Most famous of all was the big brouhaha about death panels, those fictitious boards of bureaucrats who tea party types claimed would be empowered by Obamacare to kill off grandpas and grannies. But there were many other untruths and, from a long list assembled by Politifact, here are just a few:
The Affordable Health Care Act is a scheme to ration care, just like the systems in Canada and the United Kingdom.
The truth, of course, is that Obamacare leaves American healthcare in the hands of the insurance industry. That is why many people on the left do not like it. They would much prefer a single-payer plan like Canadians have.
Muslims are exempt from the healthcare law.
This whopper made the rounds in right-wing blogs and talk shows. Of course, its utterly absurd.
All non-U.S. citizens, including illegals, will get free healthcare.
Another bit of pure mendacity from the tea party blogosphere.
Under Obamacare, "75% of small businesses now say they are going to be forced to either fire workers or cut their hours.
Floridas GOP Sen. Marco Rubio said that and many have repeated it, but it aint so. A U.S. Chamber of Commerce survey indicates less than 10% of small businesses will cut hours or get rid of workers because of Obamacare.
Obamacare will place a sales tax on real estate transactions, send out government agents for forced home inspections and produce the largest tax increase in the history of the world.
These claims from right-wing emails and talk radio fantasists are completely false.
Does it matter that almost all the right-wing opposition to Obamacare is based on lies and exaggerations? Politically, it doesnt matter at all. If the base of the Republican Party gets behind a string of crazy ideas, do not count on the politicians who seek their votes to correct them. On the contrary, they will make those delusions their own and fight for them, no matter the cost to the country.
