norte, He can bring back the war on drugs, as long as it doesn't include pot! Pot has never caused a death. It seems to be a harmless herb does more good than harm. I think that if he wants to ban drugs, he should start with tobacco. That drug kills more people than any other drug by far. The difference is that tobacco fills the pockets of commercial growers.

No doubt we need some Enforcement of the laws on the books not more laws on it!!

Stiff penalty and punishment to act as a deterrent but is of no use unless they actually enforce it!!

If anyone will do it I believe it will be Sessions.

The pot issue will be an interesting debate. When Holder was acting AG he came out and said that he would not enforce states rights regarding their decision and how they handled marijuana. Marijuana for medicinal purposes is now legal in I think what 31 states and does not violate the federal law. He could however hit hard the dealers on the street distributing marijuana because it is still technically against Federal law...What they need to do is reduce the statute on federal law for marijuana consumption. More and more states will be vying to secure the right to sell marijuana because it's a great tax break for the people, not needing to increase their tax for something and a great tax incentive for the state...

Need to see exactly what it is he's talking about and what ihe's going to come up with before we could really comment on what's going down.

I am getting tired of your links that lead to sites which fill up my screen with adds and bog down my computer with pop-ups. If there is an article of interest copy and post it, if it is too long post what you can and the link. You are about to become the first person I put on ignore.

Taxes on tobacco were a great Tax Break for the people, State run Lotteries supported by the mathematically challenged and the desperate, were a great Tax Break for the people. It supported schools, benefited children, and helped Mom make Apple Pie. The typical politicians cant to garner support for something which would be rejected otherwise. George Washington taxed alcohol because it was a great tax break for the people. Taxing vices is always popular.

Only a fool would not recognize that a politician will stoop to any level of depravity to garner ever increasing amounts of other peoples wealth, in the form of taxes. There will never be a time when they have enough. The only calculation politicians find relevant to Marijuana is the revenue derived by the producers and the taxes imposed by the government. The arguments that marijuana usage is benign are refuted by the same intoxicant effects as alcohol, with brain damage to boot. The societal costs do not enter into the computation.

We have evidence that Mexican Cartels have invaded our National forests, in order to grow Maruijuana illegally, close to their markets. This is wrong on so many counts, illegal entry, illegal growing of a proscribed substance, illegal sales of banned drugs and danger to legitimate users of the national forests since these criminals are all heavily armed and ready to kill to protect their fields.

The medicinal uses of marijuana do not require smoking the pods as a means of obtaining the benefits. The enormous number of stores offering "Medicinal" marijuana makes one suspect that some doctors are prescribing this simply because they can make a buck seeing patients whose ailments require marijuana instead of an Aspirin.

All of what You say factual...

The tax incentive for the states are astronomical vs not passing it as to hinder the general population..As we have witnessed those that smoke will buy it underground and will smoke, period..Why not have the added tax to offset the expenses of those tied up in court on being over the limit they are allowed to have or other drug cases pending etc? Colorado is rebuilding a damn no cost to the state or added tax to citizens.. it's building a homeless shelters for the homeless and developing a rehab center all with pot taxes...

First, pafret we do need to look at the diversity of law that creates a serious issue of discrimination in the state that allows it vs the state that does not.. One arrests and the other not.. But for the Federal law there would truly be an injustice of conflict in law itself for citizens..look to se that brought before the SCOTUS.. it's guaranteed as each states introduced acceptance of pot..

Pot is presently in the prohibition state if you ask me...Just like alcohol was, it is in its infancy right now but as the government figures out how to tax it it will then be legal everywhere..

Some Drs I am sure clears their patient for medical marijuana as it takes very little for that clearance in qualifiers.. Stress is enough to get get clearance, headaches, migraines, are enough, I mean it's ridiculous the qualifiers used..

The war on "terror" will never be over, it will just change locations. Like the war on drugs, prostitution, pornography, and the many others that will follow, it is a war on humanity. These wars will never be won; the State will just keep creating new boogiemen to frighten us with. The sheep will anxiously anticipate the next fall guy the State offers up as a sacrifice for the war on whatever happens to be next. Be careful, the next pawn could be me or you.

Don't do drugs because if you do drugs you'll go to prison, and drugs are really expensive in prison.
