norte, I lived in a rent controlled apartment as a boy. It was in Rego Park, Queens which was a upper middle class neighborhood at the time. Today I have changed my mind. Rent control does decrease the number of new apartment homes that are built, and was in part responsible for the housing crisis in New York City. It probably would work if land lords were allowed to increase the rent more.
The government should not set the prices of anything.
The US should not be Communist.
