It seems that rationale, common sense and intelligence has escaped the political arena. If one were to write the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution today (with minor changes to fit current times) they would be declared terrorists and, quite probably, convicted of treason. None of the three branches of government serve the American people in the roles for which they were designed. Few elected officials are in office to serve their country, rather for ego, self service, personal enrichment and power. Members of all branches of our government should live under the same laws they impose on the general public and be afforded no special privileges. For a period of time (if not rejected from this site) I will offer suggestions for a renewal of government and a restoration of the freedoms and liberties for "We The People" and put us back on a path to economic security, national security, restore our position as the world's "super power", as well as decrease the unemployment rate, raise the standard of living even more. Some subjects will offend and be very controversial, no doubt.

CHANGING THE SEAT OF OUR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT

Washington DC should be a historical site, a National Treasure. The capitol should be located in the approximate geographical center of the continental United States. As it is situated right now, it is only seconds from an attack from an undetected sub and quite obviously cannot be defended by attack from within the city, realistically has no really defensible perimeter.
If one runs for a political office they are taking an oath to support and defend the Constitution, and to serve the MAJORITY of those who elected them honor, integrity keeping in mind what best serves
