Lololo, too cute.. I have an antique 1912 Victor Vitrola crank and yes, it still plays.. has the original Nipper Dog and needles that look like nails .. speakers are in the cabinet and when you open it you hear them even more.. Also have a number of the old vinyl 78s my Grandfather collected..

It's fun to listen to them thinking about music at that time and the time now so different...

Won't be long. How many 'under 30s' do you suppose could use a tape deck? How many have even seen one? How about a vinyl record? I haven't seen a record player in 30 years at least.

I have a record player, 78RPM records made in the 40"s and 50's, also 45'S and LP records. Does anyone know where to get the needles for the players? I let the kids play it and the needle is now missing.

I knew there was a reason we keep you around. It certainly isn't for your sweet, even-tempered personality.

It still works. I even own the 45 cylinder you use on the spindle to play 45 rpm records.

I have all that equipment that I bought in 1971 and it works very well to play the hundreds of LPs I bought in the 70s. Of course we haver CD players, too.

I wish so many of these kids hadn't acquired every thing they have now since they reached adulthood in the early 2000s.

loving music in all it's forms, I have 75's, 45's and LP's. I can play them on a turntable (Emerson), and convert them to Cassette Tape or CD's. There are about 40 or 50 - 75's, 200 - 45's, and 400 - LP's in my collection, as well as several boxes of Cassette Tapes and now quite a few CD's. Trying to keep up with the current technology, there are now about 6,000 song's on my MP-3 players, and also on a portable hard drive USB. Ballads, Rock and Roll, Rock-a-Billy, Country, Blue-Grass, Gospel, Classical, you name it, I love it. In both of my cars, I have a hard-drive, and also Satellite Radio. Guess you might say it's my hobby. ps: RAP is not music.

I also have a huge much like yours, and recently purchased a 'gizmo' from fry's Electronics to convert all of it to digital, if I ever hopefully find the time to do so. I also agree with you on the 'RAP' situation, of which I refer to as 'monkey music' The only problem with that is that it tends to besmirch the Monkeys.

if only monkeys could talk!! One of my problems with it is that they all talk a lot faster than I listen (old-age, you know).
