One of the central themes of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign was to not only build a border wall, but to make Mexico pay for it. The claim didn’t just become an applause line for Trump on the campaign trail, it was a call-and-response rallying cry.
But the Trump budget proposals revealed late Wednesday include $4.1 billion for the wall. Reuters reported that Trump was asking for $1.5 billion for the current fiscal year and another $2.6 billion for the 2018 budget year, which begins Oct. 1.
The money will come from U.S. taxpayers and not Mexico, which has made it clear that it’s not paying for the wall.
Earlier this year, Trump backed off his campaign promise and admitted that Americans would end up footing the bill, but claimed Mexico would “reimburse us for the cost of the wall.”
A report from the Department of Homeland Security estimated that the cost of the wall would be far higher than what Trump had promised on the campaign trail. Trump has said the wall would cost $12 billion, but Homeland Security estimated it would cost $21.6 billion and take three years to construct.

I don't care who pays for the wall just so it's built.I'm sure it will interfere with your drug availability but that's some the cost of living in a law abiding country.

Doesn't bother me a bit. It needs doin!
Just get the wall built! There are plenty of ways to get Mexico to pay for it in the end, but it's for our security so if we have to foot the bill so be it! At least Trump will do whatever he can to make them Pay for all or part of it

When that wall is built it will shut off the remittances to Mexico which were $26.97 billion in 2016 alone. This money will be earned by legal residents and spent in the domestic economy thus boosting consumer demand and job creation. This single aspect is worth the cost of the wall which was estimated by various sources as 15 to 25 billion dollars for the wall and its support infrastructure. Less than the cost of one year's worth of lost economic demand in this country. The wall itself will span several years in construction so that the costs do not have to be accommodated in a single year.
The only people who oppose the wall, are subversive anti-America first ilk and should be relocated south of the wall.

Who cares, Obama wasted billions dealing with Iran, just to have them spit in our face.
We will save well over the cost of a wall just in illegal entitlements.
One way or the other, Mexico will loose more than they would have if they would have just paid for the wall.
