When I was 18 I prayed to GOD to let me see 50, 2000, as I had Vietnam facing me and I had a bad feeling. Well so far he has given me 17 years of gravy. Ain't GOD great? Mike

Frankly, the last time I 'wished' I were older was nearly 50 years ago...when I was 12.

AMEM Dog. Mike

I've always wanted to stay young. In my heart I am, but this old vessel that carries me around has definitely taken a beating over the years. When the day comes, I be more than happy to jump on that train and be with those that I've loved and been loved by.
Till then, I'm here for what the Good Lord has in mind for me. Faith, Hope and Love. Those are my weapons against evil and false prophets.

He is indeed, Mike. God has always provided while I trembled.

Indeed. Every morning I wake up with a warm loving dog next to me, sometimes two. That's a lovely and loving way to start the day.

I've been lucky in that I felt GOD in me at an early age. That doesn't mean I've always acted in a GODly way, especially in my mid-20's till 31 when my daughter was born. That's when I threw off satan, and he is real, and I got straight with GOD again. Even now I'm not establishment religious, but I try to live with Jesus in my soul. I pretty much live by the golden rule, treat folks extra nice, critters like me and I like them and I do not have any hate in my heart but I won't suffer fools or abide by people attacking me or others. I say prayers for those who I think need them and believe they work. I sleep peaceful. I wish that for you QG and BD and the rest here at OPP and especially for CB, Trdnest, etc. Mike

I've been lucky in that I felt GOD in me at an ear... (show quote)

Sounds like you know what the Lord wants of us. I'm very much the same way, except I have no children, only my dogs, which have been my saving grace for...Oh...SO many years.

As I said, I'm not religious. Was raised Catholic, was and Alter boy, could do High and low mass in Latin (my Mom taught Latin in college) and I got a lot of relief from the Church's teachings. People have a bad mis-understanding of Catholic teachings but actually it allows the individual a lot of wiggle room for GOD'S forgiveness.

I think the Church today is full of evil in the hierarchy. The present pope is part of the NWO. I believe he is a minion of satan. He along with the Queen of England have attended Bohemian Grove ceremonies. The proof is in what he is espousing. Almost every edict he has put out goes in direct contradiction with Catholic teachings.

What kind of dogs do you have? My Daughter just got a yellow lab puppy. A very nice and pretty pup. Every time I go over the little bitch bloodies me. My son in law doesn't understand why. The pup goes crazy when I go over. Have always gotten along with kids and animals, probably cause I like them more than I like most people although I'm a people person except today everyone is in too big a hurry or texting or whatever

Hey Dog, give those pups a scratch behind the ears and especially one on the rump for me. Mike

I, too, since I was a child, then my teacher (my father) died when I was 13. It took me to nearly the age of 40 to find my way back to Him, but I always knew Him. I didn't abide on many levels, but I always knew Him. What was instilled within me by the age of 13, remained throughout all the evil, He never parted.

EDIT: I tried church, (Wesleyan) given it is where I always belonged (heart), but found it to be nothing more than a social gathering to pat one another's back.

Besides, single woman go to church to "find a good man". The wives in the church are afraid theirs might get stolen away. Silly women....

I too was an alterboy, and yes, I agree with what you say about the pope and present day teachings. I'll stick with what I was taught and the freedoms of those teachings. Sounds like we're from the same kinda thinking.
Anyway, I just went into the bedroom, Pooka, my 6yr old golden retriever was the first one into bed, Lindsey, my 15 yr old Portuguese Water dog was second. Now it's my turn, IF I can find some room.

Funny, I always thought that church was a good place to find a good woman. Instead, a good woman found me out in the garden. Hmmmm, ya just never know.
I always thought that church was for sinners. I figured that if God had to go to church on Sunday to help the sinners, I'd hang around the woods and take care of his house while he was busy at church.
I'm still doing it today, when He needs me.

We have faith, Hope and Love on our side.
And all the critters that love us.
May the Lord be with you too, and pleasant dreams.
Chris

"I found nothing more than social gathering." I did the same thing. I even went with Jewish friends to their services and to my surprise I could follow along. None of it worked. I rely on my various beliefs and just try to do what I think the Lord would want me to do. In fact, earlier I said I am lucky, I am cause, I don't have to think about it, it comes naturally to me, just the way I am. Mike
