Unfortunately, the first major mistake of the Trump administration just occured and it is a bad one in my opinion. Sessions recused himself from any Trump--Russia connection investigation. By doing so he bought into their premise and gave it credibility. His testimony at confirmation is in the record and clearly vindicates him, yet now he has cast doubt and suspicion on this matter.
Dumb move. He should have done nothing and his stock answer should have been "look at my testimony and the record of my contacts last year including when, how, and to whom I spoke. Is that good enough for you or are you calling me a liar"?
This is the U. S. Attorney General for pete's sake. If it was me, I'd have gotten in who ever's face and put them on the defensive. Put up or shut up. What he did was chicken out. Sessions is a good man with high morals and values. He should have known better.
What REALLY boils me is the idiot republicans who were calling for Sessions to recuse. Trying and doing are two separate concepts. Until he has suffered a significant loss of followers, they have accomplished nothing and if you read a range of information you would see that they are the ones losing followers.
So far, the biggest hurt he has suffered is Session's recusing himself. That was a mistake but it is self inflicted.
You can bad mouth someone incessantly and until you change a lot of.people's minds about that person you have done nothing to destroy them.
You may be giving the left too much credit and not enough to Trump supporters.
CNN, a powerfully liberal network that always promotes D.C. spin against Trump, did a poll after his address to congress. To their chagrin they publicized the poll in advance and had to make public it's results. And if you understand how CNN works you know their polls are always weighted with more liberals than conservatives.
78% in support of Trump's speech and content.
