It just seems like the ability to critically think and make inferences has been educated out of people. They don't seem to want to know as much as be told. Very sad.

And they have ulterior motives.

He has an uncanny ability to go from point A to a shall we say, absolutely implausible point, aleph, completely bypassing points in between, without which a logical conclusion can be reached.

Otherwise known as "superficial thinking".

I dunno about the "thinking" part.

At any rate, if these people believe in this consensus business, their faith is going to be tested.

permafrost, I watched a video 2 or 3 wweeks ago with one of the top UN people, a woman who came right and stated that that the whole purpose of the climate change BS is to assist in financialy corrupting the our fiscal ways of doing things as well as all the other countries who have ascribed to this. It is the UN who is pushing al this climate change crap to bring down all countries in order for the New World Order ONE WORLD GOVERNEMNT. This particular lady would be one of the top people to gain a lot of power. I think I saved it and will provide it if I can find it. As a matter of fact this whole stinking situation has a lot of paralles to that movie THE HUNGER GAMES. I only watched bits and pieces of while my family was watching it.

Carol,

When did this quibble over CC become, The UN is taking us over?

And what is your point with this observation? Of course the temperature is always changing. CC is about the trend in climate, not day to day weather..

You might find the above.link interesting. It seems some.of these "scientists" have been falsifying data and got caught. Interesting read and not long. I find it a bit suspicious that the federal agencies to which these data are reported refuse to hazard a "guess" as to how many scientists are faking data.

Also known as avoiding the issue.

I believe it. It is easy to "fix" data and results so as to obtain grant money for research. In the mid '60's I worked for research doctors at Colorado University Medical Center. They weren't fraudulent, but I saw that it would be easy to do.

About 10 or 12 years ago, my own physician informed me that "research" was showing that the hormones used in Hormone Replacement Therapy caused cancer. I asked him, if that were true, then birth control pills could also cause cancer. Shortly after that I read an article "disproving" that original research.

Go figure.

I've been doing medical research for 35+ years. 20 for the MDA. It takes a lot of time and work to have something worthy of notation. For instance, I put in 12 years microtoming frozen human spinal cord specimens. It took several minutes to prepare one usable slice and I had less than 30 seconds of electron microscopy before the specimen would denature. The end result was discovery leading to plasmapheresis treatment for ALS.

It is much more attractive for some "scientists" to plagiarize and falesfy data especially if they are paid up front to do so.

Yes, since most research is restricted therefore secluded from prying eyes, results can be manipulated easily.

That's quite a research coup, Doc. Congratulations. Are you saying it was a serendipity type of discovery?

Later, in my life, late 1980's, I was a hospital Medicaid biller. How easy it was to "tweak" the billing statement slightly to bill for a diagnosis or treatment that would be paid for, over one which would not be paid for. After all, the feds weren't paying us enough anyway. It's not quite the same as manipulating research results in order to get federal grants, but it is fraud nonetheless.

I worked as a lab technician for the Doctors Katsch in the late 1960's at the University of Colorado Medical Center. Mr. Dr. Katsch was a Pharmacologist, doing research on a possible male birth control method: attempting to bring about an auto-immune reaction to testicular proteins in guinea pigs. Decreased the size of the testes to about a quarter of the original.

Mrs. Dr. Katsch was an Immunologist doing skin grafts in mice, genetically identical except for the color of hair and skin. We transplanted a black square of skin to a white mouse, and vice versa, then gave them various immunosuppressants. I had to quit after about three years as I developed a severe allergy to guinea pigs. The revenge of the guinea pigs, I called it. But I learned a lot about auto-immunology, and I believe that that is a biggie in research nowadays.

I was just one of several around the country assigned to the project. We communicated daily and compared findings. As we correlated information the picture became clearer until we finally knew enough to report. My point is that research entails a lot of work and sees slow progress for the most part. Unscrupulous people will take money for predetermined outcomes and it is not difficult to manipulate data accordingly.

By any chance were those guinea pigs being fed alfalfa?
