Would you consider a lion's den, a pit full of rattlesnakes, a river full of piranhas, or a neighborhood full of people who want you to die a 'no go zone'?

This is nothing more than an attempt to wordsmith around common sense.

You guys will be so embarrassed. Archie, I am surprised no longer at your ideological blindness. Sweden "no-go zones" are a lie. The lion's den, the pit of vipers, a river full of piranhas is your own logical thought. Your Confirmation Bias is making you look like a pure numbskull. Address the issue with disputable facts or let Meathead speak. I am so freaking tired that not a single one of you will go toe-to-toe with any arguments or facts I present and only do the down-low of insult. You and your non-info ilk look stupid. If Prosperity finds this or many other posts that I have written, they will guess Neanderthals in response were harboring a grudge against their superiors they were incapable of actually challenging. Like I said Homer, you are twisting words in order to form what you think is an unbeatable argument. You have debunked nothing. If anyone, and everyone can't safely go into certain areas, they are considered no go zones. It's simple, and you are complicating it just for the purpose of trying to make yourself look intellectually superior. It's obvious. You have been debunked.

The idea of dozens of “no-go zones” across Sweden started in 2014 after a law enforcement report listed 55 “vulnerable” areas in the country.
What police described were areas with socioeconomic issues related to poverty and organized crime. Sometimes police vehicles in these vulnerable areas were attacked, the report said, and the community was less likely to cooperate with investigations.

It was a newspaper columnist — not police — who dubbed these areas “no-go zones,” and the idea has since taken on a life of its own. The term is now firmly tied to the influx of Middle Eastern refugees, and often invoked in anti-Muslim rhetoric.

Tales of violence committed by Muslims and refugees in Sweden often start as local crime stories that are then translated by sensationalistic UK tabloids, conservative outlets like Breitbart News, or the Russian state-funded broadcaster RT, before being further spread by fringe websites and anti-Muslim blogs in the US.

In 2016, the Swedish Embassy in Hungary rebuked the government of right-wing Prime Minister Viktor Orban for perpetuating the myth as part of a referendum campaign.

“It is important to be clear: such zones, however they are labelled or defined, do not exist in Sweden,” a Swedish official told The Local.

Sweden is, of course, far from the only country painted as home to these violent Muslim enclaves. In 2015, a Fox News guest infamously claimed that the entire English city of Birmingham had become off-limits to non-Muslims.

“You basically have zones where Sharia courts were set up, where Muslim density is very intense, where the police don’t go in, and where it’s basically a separate country almost — a country within a country,” said Steve Emerson, a self-described expert on terrorism.

This came as a surprise to residents of Birmingham, and Emerson’s comment was widely mocked in the UK. The prime minister, David Cameron, said he choked on his porridge when he heard the claim, saying that Emerson “is clearly a complete idiot.”

The problem of misinformation is perhaps worse now than ever with the recent surge of fake news and misleading claims about everything from politicians to crime statistics. Human confirmation bias, isolated social media filter bubbles and search engine algorithms all contribute to a growing sense of polarization. The misinformation war that has plagues scientific skeptics and pro-science advocates when it comes to pseudoscience has now invaded politics and political policy issues. Dark forces are more willing than ever to lie and misrepresent statistics to provoke fear, anger and suspicion among people towards others.

Debunking Denialism has taken on several such cases of pseudoscientific bigotry, such as falsely comparing ethnic minorities to poisonous M&Ms, conspiracy theories about alleged white genocide, how anti-immigration activists abuse Swedish rape statistics or data on reported shootings in the Swedish city of Malmö. Now it is time to take on the widespread myth that Sweden supposedly has 55 no-go zones where criminals rule society and police are afraid or incapable of entering. This turns out to be a complete fabrication based on a journalist and his misreading of a police report and metaphorical use of language for exaggerated political discourse. Two police crucial police reports that investigate this issue never use the term and the properties they assign to vulnerable areas directly contradict the “no-go zone” narrative. There is a problem with criminal gangs fighting each other in Malmö, but that started in 2008, almost a decade before the refugee crisis in Europe. Let us take a closer look at the original police reports and relevant news articles on this issue.

For something to be a “no-go zone”, it must be blocked off by a paramilitary or insurgency group that prevents the police from entering or an area that is blocked off to certain people. Basically, the police or military has completely lost power or control over the area and the government cannot assert their sovereignty. Language evolves over time and definitions changes, but we must be clear with what the words we use actually mean.

The Syrian civil war seems to have set off a chaotic scramble for Europe’s borders. Some migrants are seeking shelter from ongoing conflicts in Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan. But many others — from Morocco, Tunisia, Bangladesh, and many other countries besides — are taking advantage of the confusion. In 2015 alone, 163,000 migrants applied for asylum in Sweden, a country of 9.5 million. The BBC recently reported that Sweden’s minister for home affairs, the Social Democrat Anders Ygeman, has suggested that as many as half of the migrants who applied for asylum last year could face expulsion, on the grounds that they are economic migrants who are not entitled to refugee status. Suffice it to say, expelling 80,000 migrants is unlikely to prove an inexpensive endeavor, a fact that is probably causing even the most open-hearted of Swedish government officials to question the wisdom of having taken such a welcoming stance in the first place.

Ruist does not address the fiscal costs of this current influx. Rather, he estimates the extent of fiscal redistribution to refugees in Sweden in 2007, on the premise that doing so will give us some indication of what the fiscal impact of refugee immigration will look like under more normal circumstances. Refugee immigrants in 2007 represented 5.1 percent of Sweden’s population, a share that would be substantially higher today. Because the government data that Ruist uses do not differentiate between refugees and economic migrants, Ruist has made a number of judgment calls to construct his sample. For example, though Poland and Turkey were a source of a large number of refugees, he excludes them from his sample on the grounds that both countries were also the source of many economic migrants to Sweden. Moreover, Ruist also excludes the Swedish-born children of refugees from his sample, despite the fact that the costs associated with the Swedish-born children of refugees are of course part of the impact of refugee immigration.
It emerges, not surprising, that refugees were highly over-represented in certain types of public spending. Most strikingly, they accounted for 55% of social assistance spending, as opposed to their share in the total population of only 5.1%. Seventeen percent of refugees received social assistance as opposed to only 3.3% of the total population. On the other hand, refugees heavily concentrated in the 20–59 age bracket, were under-represented in public spending on larger budget items like pensions, health, and education. All told, it is estimated that refugees accounted for 5.6% of total public spending, a share not drastically out of line with their share of the population. However, they performed much worse than the rest of the population on the revenue side, where they contributed only an estimated 3.4% of total public revenue, essentially through direct and payroll taxes..<snip> more to read...

One of these articles debunks all types of information. So why would anyone ever believe them. As far as buzz feed, they are not a news organization. They post things that are near and dear to their heart. Nothing on either to believe.

Thank You, Louie~~

So how much does it actually cost to resettle refugees? The nonpartisan National Conference of State Legislatures dug through the numbers recently and found that the Office of Refugee Resettlement has $1.56 billion to spend in fiscal 2015 — up from $587 million a decade ago.
A note here: Most of that money — and almost all of the increase — went to funding unaccompanied minors crossing the border from Mexico, which spiked to more than 24,500 in fiscal 2013 and led President Obama to call the influx an "urgent humanitarian crisis." The budget line for processing unaccompanied minors increased from $77.2 million in fiscal 2006 to $948 million in fiscal 2015. Excluding this money, funding for refugee resettlement has increased much more modestly.<snip> more to read..
