Warren Buffets Congressional reform Act of 2017
Page 1 of 2 next>

badbobby Loc: texas

Salary of retired U.S. Presidents--$!80,000,for life
Salary of House/Senate members--$174,000 for life
Salary of Speaker of the House---$223,500,for life
Salary of Majority/Minority Leaders$193,800,for life
Average salary of teachers in our schools,$40,065
Average salary of deployed soldiers,$38,000

Congressional Reform Act of 2017,ala Warren Buffet
#1--No tenure,no pension,a congressman/woman collects a salary while in office only.
#2--Congress(past and present)Participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement funds move to Social Security immediately. All future funds flow into Social Security, and Congress participates with the American people.Funds cannot be used for any other purpose.
#3--Congress can purchase their own retirement plan.
#4--Congress can no longer vote them selves a raise.Congressional pay will raise by the lower of CPI or 3%
#5--Congress loses current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the people of the U.S.A.
#6--Congress must abide by all laws imposed on the people of the U.S.A.
#7--All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective3/1/17.We did not make these contracts with Congress.Congress made these contracts them selves.Serving in Congress is an honor ,not a career. Our founding fathers envisioned citizen legislators,so our's should serve their term and go home and get a job.

Warren Buffet stated;"I could end the deficit in five minutes. You just pass a law that says any time there is a deficit of more than 3% of GOP,all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for reelection(make sense?)
The 26th Amendment (granting the right for eighteen year olds to vote)took only three months and eight days to pass. Why??Simple!!The people demanded it.That was in 1971,before computers,e mail, and cell phones etc.
Of the twenty seven amendments to the constitution, seven took one year or less to pass and become the law of the land--because of public pressure.

I personally believe that all Americans(democratic or Republican0 would support this bill.
As history shows, when the people overwhelmingly demand something,it can come to pass.

So will we get off our fat butts and demand that this bill be recognized by Congress and passed to become law?????????

Sadly,I doubt it

We shouldn't but those numbers are skewed a bit. There's a formula for how they receive a pension. So many years must be completed and so on and so forth. Either way term limits should be used and an age limit on the SCOTUS. I'm sure when the Founders wrote the Constitution they had no thought of many Americans living into their late eighties and nineties. Remember when SS was originally passed people who received it generally died months after their first check.

Ahem. This, unfortunately, was a spam email that made the rounds about 5 years ago. I actually remember receiving it and smiling at the time because it would have been so nice to see it come true. Sorry buddy, I have to do it:

So? So it's parody presented as reality, that's 'so'. So you should be taken out back and shot for peddling 'very fake news', that's 'so'. So don't do it again, that's 'so'.

That's OK, we all make mistakes every now and again. You may go play again now.
