What is the difference between the Spanish Inquisition and the Global Warming Inquisitors?

Well lets us first look at the obvious differences. The Spanish Inquisition, while it spread to other countries was ' Spanish '. The Global Warming Inquisitors do not seem to be quite so concentrated. The Spanish Inquisition spanned the late 1400s until the early 1800s. The Global Warming Inquisitors have spanned the late 1900s into our current early 21st century. The Spanish Inquisition tortured and murdered it's victims if they did not recant and convert. The Global Warming Inquisitors seek to publicly destroy the livelihoods and social lives of their victims if they do not recant and convert.

So what are the similarities? Both believe that only they possess the truth. To disagree with them even on a minor point is not to be tolerated. Both seek out their enemies in order to silence them. Both seek to criminalize disagreement. The Spanish Inquisition was primarily used as a tool by the Spanish Crown to consolidate power. The Global Warming Inquisition was used primarily by the Obama Crown, the leftist coalition of Gays, Transgenders, Kommunists, Black Victim Groups, and Feminists to consolidate power.

One last difference. The Spanish Inquisitors were funny and interesting enough to be made into a Monty Python sketch. The Global Warming Inquisitors are not funny and are not interesting.

No substantial difference; only "formal." They use different torture techniques. The older inquisition used physical methods to extract confession to stop the pain; the present uses hypnotic harange to bore us to death to say anything just to get rid of the headache.

The Spanish Inquisition was not fueled by poor Science and outright lies.

Okay. So what was it fueled by? What was the justification for mass murder? Someone doesnt believe like they did (do)?

A spooky brain is a spooky brain. Whether in a laboratory or dressed in silk garbs.

Ref: Ayn Rand Faith or Force. (My god knows whats best for you and I speak to my god, and, you're not smart enough to understand our research so I am going to use the power of the state to force you to comply).

Who cares? It certainly wasn't fueled by poor science and outright lies.

Gotta care. No matter how modern society becomes there is always some spook conjuring thinking which justifies themselves and seems unchallengable with rational thinking.

Once they gain traction the dying begins.

Religion, pseudo science, revisionist history.......on guard! thinkers!

Problem is, they are using the schools to dumb them down so they cant think.

The Spanish Inquisition was not just religious fanatics gone wild anymore than the Global Warming Inquisition is Mad Meteorologists gone wild. You always have to look at who is benefiting from the terror the crazies are inflicting. Who is allowing the power to flow to the True Believers? In the late 1400s it was the Spanish crown of Ferdinand and Isabella. You might remember them as the happy couple who financed Christopher Columbus. In today's World it is the Left Wing Liberals who benefit from the silencing of opposition which any Inquisition specializes in. Within that establishment you have University Professionals and Democrat political leaders like Obama and Kerry who receive great advantage from the Global Warming Jihad.

So, I am sitting in Rome. Another force based entitlement screwball in the form of a king tells me to commit murder in his name.

I dont look at any text which may instruct me. I comply. And with glee.

This Jesus guy must be rolling in the clouds.

Yeah, with a healthy dose of "We know whats best for you. And you, well, you need to let us think for you. You cant possibly understand this. So stop thinking. So drop your drawers and experience the knowledge from god and give up your car and ride with the rest of this wonderful humanity. Think of the stimulating conversations youll have. Oh, and while we're at it, let me pass you this plate you can put money in. Remember, no questions.

Ah. Feel the liberation from thought.

I keep waiting for a resolution to Michael Mann's lawsuit against Mark Stein and National Review and others. The speed of our legal system is a disgrace.
