I believe a good deal of the anger related to this coming from the right is due to the perception that these cases are pre planned and certain proprietors are singled out for litigation in advance.
I don't know about you but if someone refuses to serve me, I'll just go to a competitor of theirs who will gladly take my money. I have better things to do with my time than to worry about what someone thinks of me, let alone become vindictive about it. With all the businesses in competition these days it should be simple to find one should the first refuse me.
It seems mean spirited to some.people to see these suits when they could be avoided.
Yes, I understand the plaintiffs to be within their rights. Personally, I'd not waste my time over a cake or pizza.
For clarification, I was refused service twice in my younger days. I felt the proprietors to be idiots and went elsewhere.
One occasion was over a nonsense small item. The other cost a realtor the commission on an $800k home.

The same sex couple admitted later, as have several other activists in similar situations, that it was intentional. What other reason would there be to push someone who would have to be FORCED to oblige when there are a dozen places happy for the business. It reminds me of "the Book of Matt" about a homosexual man allegedly murdered because he was homosexual and made a pass at a supposedly heterosexual man. In reality it was a drug deal gone bad. The activist claims were fraud for a cause. Want the truth on that one read "The book of Matt" which includes statements from both of the men who murdered the young man and the police officers and sheriff involved.
