This article was originally published in the Capitol News Daily on 11Oct13, and the link is provided at the end of this article:

Today is a rainy, gloomy day in Washington.

And as John Boehner is up at the White House negotiating the unconditional surrender of House Republicans, I unexpectedly ran into Senator Ted Cruz outside of Washington’s Omni Shoreham Hotel.

Cruz was smiling and said he was invigorated by the outpouring of support for his campaign against Obamacare.

Of course, you may be wondering why Cruz is happy while the Republican leaders around him are groping for a lifeline from Obama and a way to settle the dispute.

The reasons are simple…

Strength Through Experience

First, Senator Ted Cruz isn’t like most politicians.

He was raised by a father who escaped from Castro’s revolution – a revolution that started by instituting socialized medicine, and then moved on to confiscating private property.

Initially, Castro was seen as a leader who could break the endemic corruption of the Cuban government and free his people. But the corruption never ended. Instead, Castro twisted the system, but kept the most insidious traits of the earlier Fulgencio Batista regime.

This family experience has made Cruz impervious to the usual pressures of Washington.

He isn’t really concerned with the media calling him names. Like Megyn Kelly. She launched her new show on Fox News by asking Senator Cruz, “What’s it like to be the most hated man in America?”

Cruz is impervious because he believes that America stands at a crucial crossroads. He doesn’t want what happened in Cuba to occur here.

So he isn’t playing for re-election or popularity. He’s attempting to build a coalition to retake America.

Passion the Founding Fathers Would Be Proud Of

Second, Ted Cruz knows the U.S. Constitution by heart. Literally. He was part of a group of high school students who memorized the document from beginning to end.

As a young man, he traveled through Texas, giving speeches about the Constitution and the free enterprise system.

When he talks with passion about the 1st, 2nd, or even 4th and 5th Amendments of the Constitution, his passion is similar to the Founding Fathers.

And during his recent 21-hour filibuster against Obamacare, he took some time to read at length about the signers of the Declaration of Independence. When you hear Cruz talk about these documents, you know immediately that he isn’t a man to be turned from his commitment.

So it remains to be known exactly what Speaker John Boehner will do to end the stalemate with Barack Obama. My only prediction is that he’ll eventually cave in to the pressure of the media and D.C.

John Boehner is very much a member of what I call the “Permanent Class.” They’re the ruling elite who always look to grow and expand the power of government.

But whatever Boehner, Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell, and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor do to bring Congress back into compliance with the wishes of the Permanent Class, Senator Cruz has won the debate.

Obamacare is a failure. And whatever D.C. does to fix it won’t likely work. And everyone in the country knows Cruz is the leader with enough courage to actually repeal it.

So along with launching the first broadside of the 2014 battle for Congress, Cruz has laid the groundwork to run for President of the United States. With that, he’s nicely positioned to be the anti-Washington candidate in the 2016 Republican Presidential sweepstakes. (Heck, since he’s such a perfect candidate, the election should just be canceled.)

Cruz should be smiling.

The reason the "Permanent Class" and other do-nothings look at Cruz with derision is because he has something they don't: Courage to stand up for what is right. In Washington, such a characteristic is so rare, sightings of Elvis flying in a UFO are more common.

Now the hard part begins: How do we educate the low-/no- information voter this is the kind of statesman we need to turn this country around? In a country where half the electorate is nothing but a bunch of Charlie McCarthys, this will be a daunting task as most of their sources of information are media outlets of the DNC - the fine bunch which made Detroit a transformation city from prosperity to bankruptcy, created the welfare plantation and brought the country the thought police.

Cruz should pick Arnold for his running mate. They can both run on the non-existent naturalized president/vp ticket. They both would require a new constitutional amendment to be elected. Sure they can run...just like anyone can make a lawsuit...doesn't mean they have a chance. Dream on....

The only reason the far right keeps recycling this birther crap is because of their delusional fantasies that they can impeach, convict and remove President Obama. Number of presidents impeached, CONVICTED, AND REMOVED REMAINS ZERO FOR 44! You will just have to do what Americans on the losing side of a presidential election have always done; wait their turn for the next presidential election!

So, it's okay if the person who runs for president is a fraud, not qualified, or not a legal citizen to become president just as long as he/she is a Democrat? Is that what you are saying? You can knock the so-called birthers all you want, but you can't prove that he is a citizen...the so-called extreme right wingers have provided more proof he isn't a citizen, than your side has to prove he is a citizen. Proof being a fraudulent COLB published on line, a forged selective service card, and holding a SS card from another person from CT, and he has never lived in CT.

No I didn't say that. No president of ANY party has ever been impeached, convicted, and removed. Like having a second constitutional convention, it is legal but has very little appeal to those who govern, regardless of their party affiliation. The chances of removing a sitting president are slim and none. (Both parties and the MSM know that). BTW, Slim just left town!

Good post! :)

It just goes to show you there are some like us who still think the Constitution means something while others think it is only a collection of old suggestions. What they fail to realize is they are making their God-given inalienable rights subject to whim and political expediency - something which our Founders would find terribly abhorrent. Bottom line: There are two Americas: One where citizens believe in the Rule of Law and limited, accountable government and the second in which the citizens are those who worship the almighty, all-knowing and most benevolent god of Big Government whose world is founded on relativism and fraud.

Yada Yada. You sheeple cant accept the fact that Obastard is an illegal President. He even tried to enroll in his Death Care program, and they could NOT verify his Social Security number. Required of CITIZENS.

Don`t post a diversion. I think you and all the tea party and right wingers should gather together and work as hard as you can to get Cruz as the candidate for the GOP.. It is only right that a crackpot group have a nut case for a candidate.. The rest of us will hope we can get rid of Obama and his pals, locate a solid person who may have some real reasons to help our nation. He/She will be our candidate...My dog Remi would beat Cruz on a national election..

The mainstream media and the Congressional leadership both view President Obama as legitimate. Its driving your side crazy that you just can't get traction for impeachment, conviction, and removal. The Republican leadership can count. They know the votes aren't there. Just wait your turn for the 2016 election. That's how it is done in the United States.

There were many at one time who thought the world was flat, but that didn't make it so. You are quite correct in pointing out the media and the Democrat leadership views Obama as legitimate, but that doesn't make it so. A couple of the most telling things surrounding the issue are:

1. The phony long form birth certificate. Why issue a fraudulent document if the real one existed? This leads to point two...

2. By making legitimate documents open for verification, it would provide a golden opportunity to make all those who question Obama's eligibility look like complete jackasses for bringing it up. Instead, as you pointed out, the media and Hollywierd circled the wagons around their golden boy by painting the patriots who stand up for the Constitution as extremists and nut cases. This, in no way, makes the case Obama is indeed eligible to hold the Office of the Presidency. This should make all fair-minded people of all political stripes cringe as their laws are being bastardized instead of being upheld.

Do you think the Left, Hollywierd and the media will look the other way if Ted Cruz throws his hat in the ring for 2016?

My final point is the original "birthers" were those who questioned John McCain's eligibility under the Constitution because he was born in Panama on a U.S. military base to TWO American citizens.

It doesn't matter to me if our president is republican or democrat The birther nonsense is just what it is --nonsense. An unknown mixed race man with a Kenyan father became president and it was to much for a certain amount of White Anglo Saxon Persons WASPs to accept so they looked for a reason any reason to get him out. They thought they had it with the birther strategy. They have been proven wrong from every angle and still won't give up. Things won't be any different for the birthers once Obama leaves office. They will find another contraversy if they are upset over the new president. It's in their nature and they are way too hard headed to be reasonable. I hope you get my answer oldschool. as always a pleasure chatting with you old chap
