It was indeed a good era. I left home @ 18yrs old in 1954, joined the navy. My family consisted of my Parents and 6 sibs I remember my Dad was making like $300 a mo. at that time. Figured one less mouth to feed and clothe would make it easier for him plus there was no jobs for a kid out right out of high school and living 35 mi out in the country. But growing up in the country i wouldn't trade that experience for anything. The music back then especially (country) they told the story of my life. Like "Hey good Looking" by Hank Williams. Yes those were the days.

I'm a little younger then that, but I remember mom and dad putting us kids to bed and then putting on Johnny Cash, Buck Owens, or Glen Campbell and slow dancing in the living room. I know cos I'd always peek. lol. Oh for the good ole days!

Squid, it looks like we had parallel lives except I joined the Army at 17, right out of high school.

I must say you have excellent taste in music.. I love music so very much, especially when I get introduced to a new artist, to me anyway...

A beautiful, beautiful song sung by an artist with a voice that I could listen to often as I add this song and she to my music library..

Thank You once again.. As is typical when I am introduced to new, I have to listen to more~~ This for you, lyrics that touch as deeply ...
