What Republicans did to Obama was essentially to impede, slow or stop his planned destruction of the United States of America as a constitutional republic. Which was Obama's ultimate goal in "transforming" the US.
Obama's legacy shows that he didn't think that the US was exceptional. Just another country. Pathetic!
On the other hand Trump is 100% on board with the notion that the US is indeed an exceptional country and holds a special place in the world, that of being the leader of the free world. And as such we bear certain responsibilities. Like having the strongest military and advancing our national interests.
If the Democrats want to try to stop Trump's agenda, they're welcome to try. They're already in the minority in House and Senate and they keep losing as long as they're shown to not support American interests. If they keep it up, like getting radical black muslim Keith Ellison as their new DNC chair, they will be totally marginalized and won't win any elections.

Do believe that democrats will start working with Trump 6 months or so before election thinking voters are banking people will forget.

Right now, the democratic party is in total disarray. This is due to appointing leaders and key personnel who are abject failures. In order to survive at all, they will have to find the most gifted leader available. As most qualified people are true democrats - hence conservative, not liberal - we had better pray there's no Hitler waiting in the wings. (I would compare a liberal to a union leader, because you do not need the union leader running the unionized company.) Trump is showing excellent leadership, by his seemingly endless capacity for work and unerring direction of the Country's future, by appointing the crème de la crème for his cabinet. He has started running the United States of America like a very successful business. This is his forte, and, let's face it, government is the biggest business there is. It should NEVER be run by politicians.
I have no predictions as to what happens to the democrat party. It all depends on who is at the helm.

The Dems learned all that obstruction and lies from the Republicans over the last 8 years and even before..

BB, Those items you mention are things everyone would like, but that does not seem to possible looking at trump very early work of the last week..

good luck America...

WOW! Well said. I'd like to know more about those lies. As for obstruction, I believe that to be the very nature of politicians - all parties. See my comment about them above. One of the worst politicians in the U.S. is Elizabeth (Pocahontas) Warren. She lied by misrepresenting her origins simply to garner sympathy votes. She is now indulging in obstruction of the progress of Pres. Trump's clean-up in a very childish manner, that is transparently self-aggrandizing. We don't want, or need that attitude in D.C.

Turn around is fair play! Just saying. It's not outrage, it's pride!

snowbear-refusing to assist the president in implementing the people's agenda is stupidity not fair play or pride. The republicans can implement the agenda without a single democrat vote as long as the Senate sticks together so the democrats can become irrelevant very quickly if they choose to go that route. Harry Reid made that possible. America First !!!!

There's a big difference. Obama's goal was a radical "fundamental transformation": of America. And in reality the only opposition to the Obama agenda was talk. But no one should be surprised, to Democrats the constitution is an obstacle, so their oaths of office are pretty much meaningless

I'm a progressive Democrat through and through; BUT, I tale issue with actions which emulate those of the Republican Teapartyers. We NEED a Congress of reasonable representatives in both houses who will work together for the benefit of ALL of us, not base supporters. Disagreement is part of a legitimate process with agreement to a beneficial result agreeable to all. Dems, don't be the new TeaParty.
