I have long thought about many things round me that caused me to wonder . With my back ground in maintenance , Im always looking for a root cause . I like the analogy of a political Iceberg . There is more Ice under the water than what we see out in the open . In these cases I see political Icebergs and wonder at the reasons of what are the REAL reasons behind the scenes .. A example would be knowing first hand the effects of legislation of Natural Resources and the rhetoric that we hear . I knew long ago that the effect of the spotted owl here in the northwest was such a political iceberg . Waking up took a long time ,then after reading the Cloward and Piven strategy , it was easy to connect the dots . It became quite clear to me then that the political iceberg of the spotted owl was to sink our ship from with in.( the lack of all natural resources)
I hope to learn more in here about the world we are living in. As well I hope my insight causes others to think about "what if" these insights are something to think about. Something that says perhaps this is the Ice beneath the surface.

I like the way you think. I've known for a long time that what we hear is never the whole truth. I always look at the biggest picture possible to see what is really going on. Between the media and politicians, we only get parts of the story. I look at who wins and who loses and it is never what we're told. Some things are what they seem but rarely.
The keystone pipeline is a good example. Politicians say it will be good for the economy, others say it will be bad for the environment. Both views are correct but only part of the story. Bringing tar sands from Canada to the Gulf makes no sense unless a. You will get the contract to build the pipeline or b. you have an interest in the refineries that will get the tar sands and c. you are otherwise locked out of the domestic energy market. or d. all the above.
The answer is d. The parent companies funneling money to both the RNC and DNC own the companies that would be involved. They also own the company that is doing the study ordered by the EPA. Pretty neat package.
