Re the SNL attacks on 10 year old Barron Trump.
Don't the people that run the networks remember they have a license to broadcast and like any license can be jerked.
I have never read the conditions for licensing but I can just about assure attacking a 10 year old on national TV is outside the rules.
If I were a stockholder in the network who airs SNL I think I would be worried about my dividend check. Messing with the president's kid ain't the smartest move when it would likely take a phone call to the head of the FCC to straighten all that out. I am aware times change but hopefully we haven't slid so far that it is ok to do this stuff.

I would agree with you regarding Barron Trump. This is not the first time things were said about him that were uncalled for. I guess it depends on who you are & your standing. Rosie O'Donnell was the first to open her mouth about Barron, saying that his actions were much the same of an autistic child. She ended up eating her words & apologizing to Melania Trump. However, this second time absolutely nothing was done. If this had been about either of the Obama girls you can bet that the person or people involved would have been jumped on by the president & his wife. Instead this is still there & no one seems to have the cojones to do anything about it. If nothing else, then the FCC should be forewarned of any future occasions & what the penalty might be. They should definitely be brought into this since they are allowing this sort of thing to occur on our the air waves.

I distinctly remember someone commenting on the girls clothing and disrespectful attitude (rolling of eyes, etc) during one of the early Thanksgiving "Turkey Pardon" ceremonies...the left went absolutely nuts....over a comment/opinion that their outfits were too casual (they were). Vicious hypocrites, every one of them.

I just read tonight that the woman from SNL that made these comments about Barron Trump has been put on probation. She should have been fired. However, she has given her mea cupa & let's hope that others will think back on this next time they get the urge to comment on any child. Barron is only 10 yrs old & I feel from all that I have read about him he's a pretty good little boy.

Hey, you haven't noticed the pits the morality standards are in on the boob tube. It's what people want and money buys.

Worth remembering is; SNL = "Saturday Night Live" = "NBC"

That alone defines the source of such pathetic actions.

Ps: Greenblatt is currently the chairman of NBC Entertainment. He succeeded Jeff Gaspin in January 2011 after Comcast took control of the newly rechristened NBCUniversal. Greenblatt is gay and is the first and currently the only openly gay broadcast TV president.

Since the Packer's crash and burn, my TV is on unpaid vacation until the first pre-season game in Sept. I am serious. I watch nothing. Should I weaken, I might try the Discovery Channel.
What a waste of time!! And it shows. In most conversations, out comes the brilliant question, "Know what I saw (or watched) on TV last night?" Nothing about any scientific discoveries, mankind accomplishments or the like. The word "shallow" comes to mind.
Do people do anything except seek entertainment on TV?
Sorry for the grouch but it does bug me.

I don't watch much TV. The shows that used to be entertaining & fun to watch were taken off the air & replaced with reality shows or whatever those "screwy" shows are called. My husband used to spend the night in front of the TV. Now he goes to bed at 8:00 PM b/c he says there is nothing to watch on TV. I enjoy the news & that's about all that I watch. I enjoy sports. Especially when there's a good baseball, basketball, or football game. We do not go in for pay channels b/c it's too expensive since we are retired & on a fixed income. Once in awhile we will go to a movie & yet movies today are simply lacking in so many ways. I get tired of the incessant use of the 'F Word' especially when it is used for no good reason at all. I would rather sit & read a book or get on the computer. I cannot for the life of me understand, who are the people that area watching what is on TV today. Does anyone know the answer to that question?

Let's try this:
Saturday am, kids watching, push cereals, junk food, toys and other stuff kids will raise Cain to get.

Weekend pms and evenings, men watching, push beer, cars, trucks and other sports programs

Afternoons for ladies stuck at home, soap operas, nail polish, bras, hair products, easy fix foods, laundry products.
It is obvious to me. Companies (sponsors) are not spending advertising bucks for nothing. They are targeting the people who are most likely to buy the product they are pushing.
Another case of brain washing for about 24/7

Not me. I am a retired old geeze who remained employed for 43 years. I after my USN time I worked for a utility in power plants for just over 32 years with only one sick day. I wasn't really sick the day I called in sick, got inhibited and never did it again. No brag, just fact.

I'm retired as is my husband. My husband's brother was employed by Commonwealth Edison out of IL for years. Then when he was 55 yrs old, his name came up on a company computer & he was graciously escorted outside to his car. I had read in the paper where Comm Ed had let 1,500 employees go; however,I never suspected that Jim would be let go b/c he was in middle management. To show you how computers work nowadays, he was only a few months away from getting his pension & b/c he was laid off, he lost all the time that he had put in with the company & didn't receive a pension or health insurance. Bad went to worse when he found out that he had to have a liver transplant & b/c he had no insurance except for Cobra, he was lucky to have the surgery up in Madison, WI. From then on, since his Cobra had expired, he ended up at the VA hospital in IA. Prior to that we learned that when they went in to replace his liver, they found cancer, but they proceeded with the surgery despite the cancer. After the surgery, his brother lived 14 yrs in hell. Finally when Jim got so bad that the family knew his days were numbered so they kept him at home b/c that is where he wanted to be. When he did pass away, it was a blessing b/c he was no longer in the pain that he had been going through for so long. It was very sad. And my husband & his brother had been close all their lives. However, it was too far for us to travel back for the funeral. I will always remember Jim the way that he was.
