My two cent's worth can be summed up by John Tyler, our 10th. President (1841-1845) who said,
Let it be henceforth proclaimed to the world that man's conscience was created free; that he is no longer accountable to his fellow man for his religious opinions, being responsible therefore only to his God.
He was originally a Democrat, but left his own party and became a Whig. Precursor to the Republican Party. Thank God.
If we follow that instruction, we cannot go far wrong.
