Stupid,
Everyone saw the parades, that was the intent..
Those weapons were captured when the Iraq army dropped them and ran.. They were given to Iraq by us not to ISIS.. Iraq told us to leave, they would not allow jurisdiction of our troops to any but Iraq rules not by our own rules..

We must, by all means, maintain a clear sighted view of what is or is not a priority, to our nation and to the world.

In such a "war" there will always be civilian causalities. Do you know how many our drone strikes have killed?
The issue in Syria is not a 3 way war. If you believe that it is, then I would recommend that you do some digging into the facts and not just what Clinton News Network (CNN) puts out. The true issue is oil.... plain and simple, it boils down to Assad refusing Turkish-Qatar pipeline and the Iran-Iraq-Syria gas pipeline. I recommend that you begin reading killary's emails, it is all in there. In a nutshell, coalition between the US, NATO, Qatar and Saudi Arabia arises just as the Iran-Iraq-Syria gas pipeline was being discussed; the pipeline would have eventually reached Europe, and allowed Europe to diversify its reserves away from Russia- reducing Russia’s influence on Europe and allowing the US to fill the void. Another pipeline to Europe ALSO depending on Syria’s cooperation was the Qatar-Turkey pipeline. Assad refused to allow the Turkish-Qatar pipeline through his borders, ‘to protect the interests of Assad's Russian ally, which is Europe’s top supplier of natural gas.” Turkey and Saudi Arabia get pissed, and fund “rebels” (ISIS) with full support of obama. Putin finally remembered this friendship, as well as his country’s monopoly on the European market, and sends jets to bomb the “rebels”… and so the rest, as they say, is history.
Go get yourself a copy of “Unfolding the Future of the Long War” it is much more eligant than my reader's digest summation. The strategy is laid out: "Divide and Rule focuses on exploiting fault lines between the various Salafi-jihadist groups to turn them against each other and dissipate their energy on internal conflicts. This strategy relies heavily on covert action, information operations (IO), unconventional warfare, and support to indigenous security forces. … the United States and its local allies could use the nationalist jihadists (in Syria, AKA the “moderate” rebels) to launch proxy IO campaigns to discredit the transnational jihadists in the eyes of the local populace… U.S. leaders could also choose to capitalize on the ‘Sustained Shia-Sunni Conflict’ trajectory by taking the side of the conservative Sunni regimes against Shiite empowerment movements in the Muslim world…. possibly supporting authoritative Sunni governments against a continuously hostile Iran.” The entry of Russia into the conflict throws a wrench into that plan, in that it is hell-bent on destroying ISIS. Now ISIS has expanded in ways that their funders, to include the obama administration, did not predict. From this point it gets much more complicated.

do you understand that Syria is in an at least 3 way war?? Russia is only helping Assad.. They are bombing not only ISIS but any others who are fighting against Assad, also civilians and anything that moves in areas not under the control of Assad...
ISIS will not die easily, we have killed most of the original leaders but new one pop up to further the cause... they will probably scatter and hide in new areas. At last count they have units in about 30 locations in north Africa and the ME.. the will soon loose control of the area in Iraq and Syria but the same type of people will continue to kill and destroy as much as they can..

Another thing about civilian causalities that gets lost by those who have little or no real war
experience is how some cultures place offensive weapons in civilian areas so when countries
like Russia bomb them they cry fowl.
My coddled American countrymen have no flaming idea.
Palestine is rife with that technique and Israel is called down for bombing hospitals that have rocket launchers
in their center courtyards . Launchers that are used time after time until Israel has to do something about them.
So be it.

US B-2 bombers struck and destroyed two ISIS camps in Libya overnight, with initial estimates that over 80 militants were killed, US officials told CNN Thursday.
The mission, which was confirmed in a later Pentagon statement and is expected to be the last, short-notice military operation ordered by President Barack Obama, was approved several days ago by the President, according to sources.
"They (the ISIS fighters) posed a security threat to Libya, the region, and US national interests," Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook said in a statement. "While we are still evaluating the results of the strikes, the initial assessment indicates they were successful."
A US defense official said the militants were seen immediately beforehand carrying weapons, wearing tactical vests, holding mortars and standing in formation. The number killed was not released by the Pentagon, but the initial estimate put the figure at over 80. There were no women or children in the area, the official said.
US surveillance aircraft had been watching the sites for weeks as fighters fled from Sirte on the coastline into what they perceived to be the safety of remote desert areas. But the isolation of the area gave those surveillance aircraft clear imagery showing military-aged males in several areas, according to officials.
The two camps that were destroyed were located about 28 miles southwest of Sirte, the Pentagon said.
In addition to the B-2 bombers, unmanned aircraft also took part in the strikes, the defense official said.
The strike did not happen initially because the rudimentary camps had moved and surveillance had to be conducted again.
The B-2s heavy bombers flying from the US were planning to bomb four camps, according to initial reports. Some of the sites may have been empty, with fighters having moved again. US Navy warships equipped with Tomahawk cruise missiles were also on standby but initial reports indicate they were not needed.
The President's approval of the strike underscores in the closing hours of his administration the difficulty of targeting ISIS fighters in dozens of countries around the world. Obama has increasingly relied on armed drones, bombers and special forces on the ground to go after these types of targets in Syria and Iraq.
"We are committed to maintaining pressure on ISIL and preventing them from establishing safe haven," Cook said, using another acronym for ISIS. "These strikes will degrade ISIL's ability to stage attacks against Libyan forces and civilians working to stabilize Sirte, and demonstrate our resolve in countering the threat posed by ISIL to Libya, the United States and our allies."

That B2 strike was purely a political act of spite. Obama never intended to defeat ISIS, and this last gasp from that cretin was meant to poke the tiger in hopes that some ISIS jihadis will pull some nasty shit in DC on inauguration day. No surprise that the security forces in DC have prepped for terror attacks. Those liberal cry baby protestors are just a nuisance, like flies, terrorism is a real threat.

lynn,
It is more than a 3 way war.. ISIS vs Assad, ISIS vs the west, a half dozen other radical Arab groups looking for power, Kurd vs Assad, Kurd vs Iraq.
and Russia killing them all if it will help Assad.
the pipelines... are you for one more then the other? do you have a stance on the pipelines?
ISIS was not created by Obama... A better case can be made that the were created when Bush was still in power..
well I will try again
perm that little escapade surely helped a little
but it's gonna take a whole lot more to eliminate Isis
let's see what our new President has in mind
