Once a month pour buttermilk into the septic tank and it will keep it clear and "balanced".

Buttermilk was suggested in one of the recipes donated to your cause. Kinda explains why soaking the liver in buttermilk would do the liver some good.

I didn't know that about the septic tank. I just buy the RidX stuff. Hmmm...
As far as cooking, I find it to be handy. But to drink it, or even think about drinking it makes me gag! I think I would rather wake up in the morning, and have fresh dog vomit squish between my toes!

Learned this from a friend. One quart once a month. Check into it. I believe what she says is true. It might be cheaper and free of man-made chemicals.

I'd cook with it before I'd drink the stuff. I do like cottage cheese but not alone and not with fruit. Also, only full fat and small curd will do. Lots of pepper and salt. Love it with home grown tomatoes and also with pot pies.

Well, Richard, if that works for you that's great! I'm happy for you! I like meat myself. I also like a lot of veggies, and dairy products. Except cottage cheese. That is something that went bad, and someone figured out how to sell in order to reclaim their investment.

Fresh cottage cheese, Pace hot picante, Kraft real mayonnaise, and garlic salt. Mix in proportions to your liking but more cottage cheese and mayo. Great dip! Addictive though.

PS-yes Linda, this one is for real!

Sounds like a winner to me. I like full fat cottage cheese with anything tomato based. Poor man's lasagna is made with cottage cheese, well drained.

You're right, it's not. Kraft is thin compared to Hellmann's. Years ago I tried various store brand mayo but it always had that Miracle Whip 'tang' to it. Yuk!

The toughest 10 minutes I ever had was trying to go vegan. They rushed me to a nearby steakhouse. Saved my life.

Lolololol. Glad to see you made it..

I don't know that I could ever be vegan..Very strict and very time consuming in making different dishes..

I have a friend who does vegan everything with soy , tofo, veggies, some cheese. No eggs, or bread unless Ezekiel bread, etc..She adds different homegrown herbs to everything..Have had a couple veggie dishes and they tasted wonderful, while she was right there..lolol..Not for me, not big on red meats but when I want a steak, I want it!!

You're a vegetarian huh? Do you drink alcohol? If not, you should have a good, clean liver with no gamey taste. Where do you live?

I can respect that. My wife likes it too, and she's still my friend. Except for cooking uses, she can't stand buttermilk. That helps us maintain our friendship I think.

Please tell me that you don't like buttermilk!

Lol, yes, I can tell, am going to try it tomorrow, which is really tonight...I don't do salt so I'm going to use garlic powder instead....It sounds good and I like a little spice to foods too..Not mouth scorching or water your eyes kinda hot tho.....
Thank you for sharing....
