Obama's opinion on repeal of the ACA

Obama stated that he has doubts that the GOP can come up with a better healthcare plan. The ACA is collapsing and the premiums are rising with reduced coverage. The bare bone bronze plan would cost me $252 per month or $3000 per year. The deductible is $6750 per year with a 30% co-pay. If you succumb to an illness in December that continues into January you out of pocket expense will exceed $13500 not including the 30% co-pay after paying $3000 per year in premiums. Is this really healthcare insurance or a government mandated subsidy to the insurer? There is a new slogan in town. " Make America sick again" The ACA is making American sicker because high deductibles discourages patients to seek preventive care and normal health maintenance because of the out of pocket expense. The ACA was supposed to reduce the cost of healthcare by reducing the number of ER visits but that has not happened. If a better healthcare insurance plan cannot be implemented by the GOP then the government should get the hell out of healthcare and allow a free market competition to offer a better solution. The choice of coverage options should be left to the individual that is paying the premiums.

Obama is a narcissistic idiot that wouldn't know a good plan of any kind if it bit him in the ass. Republicans need to be damn sure they come up with something that actually works for the people or they will be held responsible for everything and the Democrats and liberal media will crucify them.

It's called "fundamental transformation," Tomt. The Republican conservatives in Congress knew from the beginning what "BHO" was trying to do, and not a single Republican vote went for the ACA. A "Single Payer" government controlled health care {tax} system {to be achieved by ACA skyrocketing premiums and outrageous (D)eductibles} was (D)esigned to "CONTROL" every phase and every faction of our Western free-market system, {to every citizen but Congress, administration's Cabinet, Union management, Muslims, BIG-wigs, etc.}, from birth to (D)eath. "Gun CONTROL/birth CONTROL," are just a small part of the radical secular liberal progressive Marx/Alinsky ideology, agenda and strategy for the "Single Payer" health "TAX," "controlling" America. Anyone who thinks the ACA is failing isn't plugged into BHO's (D)ream of the "Single Payer" health system in America!!! The ACA is (D)oing EXACTLY as planned!!! President "45" Trump isn't, and the radical Marx/Alinsky cabal must (D)iscard President Trump as quickly as possible {"D)o-over," Impeachment, (D)iscredited or (D)elegitimized} at any cost!!! Hummmmmmmmmm. FAT CHANCE!!! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PRESIDENT "45" DONALD J. TRUMP!!! "MAKE AMERICA {AND ISRAEL} GREAT AGAIN!!!" "DRAIN THAT {RADICAL SECULAR LIBERAL "REGRESSIVE"} SWAMP!!!"

The problem many have with the ACA argument is that they are assuming that Obama's ultimate goal was to improve health care. It was not. It is simply a Marxist designed plan to re-distribute income. Single-payer was the goal from the beginning. Obama is not going to go away quietly while his single "legacy accomplishment" is attacked and destroyed.

Absolutely, bylm1. Absolutely. BHO is not going to go away until he is arrested for interfering with free-market American government function. Setting-up a "shadow" government right - sorry, "left" down the block from the WH must be assisted by our new conservative Congress, AG and DOJ, on a (D)aily basis!!! No ifs ands or buts!!! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PRESIDENT "45" DONALD J. TRUMP!!! "MAKE AMERICA {AND ISRAEL} GREAT AGAIN!!!" "DRAIN THAT {RADICAL SECULAR LIBERAL "REGRESSIVE"} SWAMP!!!"

Trump can drain the swamp if Obama's EPA does not declare DC as a federal protected "wet land"

Rising premiums; reduced coverage. Unintended consequences or, as many government bureaucrats say: Blowback. There is no fix for this condition, just ask the CIA.

Returning healthcare to a free market function is, of course, the most expedient way to ensure sanity will return to the healthcare system. Just get the government out of the way and watch it all get better all on its own. On the way to this healthcare utopia, however, be prepared to be accused of every crime under the sun because you don't want Granny to get her hip replacement or because you want Great Uncle Tom to die of cancer or any and all of a myriad of horrible things that are going to happen because you had the temerity to tell government to 'get out of the way'. The fear of failure that ensues from all of this negativity will prompt a desire to 'repeal and replace'. That just trades one bad idea for another.

Many of the problems with healthcare insurance are based in the laws and regulations surrounding healthcare provision:

"The passage of the Affordable Care Act didn’t create a medical-industrial complex. However, it drew attention to and hastened the growth of a mega-trillion dollar industry that seems more interested in advanced technology, federal regulation and personal data collection, than in the doctor’s care and life-saving treatment of patients":

The more spent on 'compliance', the less spent on 'healthcare'.

Unfortunately, it was the governments' intervention in healthcare that began this problem in the first place. The implementation of Medicare- and removing the individual's "skin in the game"- is what caused the massive increase in cost: from physician fees, to drug costs, to massive costs in technology. It took away the free market and created a financial nightmare!

Now we are all left with this mess-- and how we go back to free market/supply and demand rules of economics is a quagmire! The unintended consequences (and sometimes intended) of "do-gooders" will get you every time! Thanks FDR!
