That's because he is afraid. His M.O. is "Give them what they want and they won't hurt you." He thinks his words are enough to stave them off. It APPEARS as if he is a Muslim; but he doesn't believe in God. It is only appeasement.

The unfortunate consequence of his attitude and words are that now a lot of Americans, good Christians (who otherwise might be more tolerant), are convinced he is a Muslim and maybe even supporting the Islamic State of Nowhere.

It is his fears that are endangering both Americans and Muslim Americans.

That is God's absolute truth. He believes in God when it suits him, when he thinks people will admire him. But when it comes to policy making, he decides there is no God, and goes off and does whatever he wants.
