So what were the top Bible prophecy stories that caught your eye this year? This is what I found to write about, these articles light the way leading to the Great Tribulation, for the hour is near and at hand. At the end of each year I like to review how Bible prophecy played out during the year. Seeing dark news items from a prophetic perspective causes the darkness to be more bearable when light is shed on the subject at hand.

These Tribulation stage-setting events aren't in any particular order, but we must keep our eyes on Israel, God's timepiece, the apple of his eye. The minute-hand is Jerusalem and the second-hand is the Temple Mount. They have all been prominent in the news. Let’s have a look.

1) Zechariah 12:3 became a blunt reality on December 23. This was the day the U.N. Security Council voted unanimously to come against Israel. America abstained which is essentially voting with the other members. She symbolically became the world's burdensome stone. Zechariah 12:3, “ And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.”

This was initiated and instigated by the President of the United States which means terrible repercussions are coming to this land. So the UN basically wants Israel is to return to 1967 "Auschwitz" borders shrinking their small sliver of land even more. The holy city of Jerusalem becomes "occupied territory" as East Jerusalem will fall under Palestinian control. Israel will be further isolated and alienated as predicted.

2) The great falling away didn't stop falling in 2016 it was enhanced. Many evangelical churches became nothing more than advocates for open borders and multiculturalism. The social gospel made such giant inroads and salvation issues became unrecognizable. Emergent/Postmodernism raged. Other churches fell into the lukewarm mode, Revelation 3:16 “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.”

Hardly any would deal with the issues of the day or the Lord's rapture or his return to save his nation Israel in the second advent.

3) The longing for a "man with a plan" was never so prominent. Even CNN's Home page begged for a man who could restore order. It asks in smaller print, "Is there a leader who can stop the chaos and heal America?" Are they looking for a man who can band the nations together against God’s chosen people Israel? The man of perdition commonly known as the Antichrist in scripture? Perhaps not knowingly, but they will soon believe the lie and be deluded into worshipping the man of lawlessness.

4) II Timothy 3 character was in overdrive in 2016. Various presidential candidates were consumed with pride and self-aggrandizement. Values seemed to tank this past year. National industries featured same-sex ads with no shame. It seemed like everyone was drowning in the lake of me-myself-I. 2nd Timothy 3:1-6 says, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

5) Israel's re-convened Sanhedrin took the momentous step of nominating a High Priest for the Temple--for the first time since it's destruction in 70 A.D. The Tribulation Temple is in the works, even though the United Nations just declared this area off-limits to the Jews! The state is being set for Psalm 83 when Israel winds a short protracted war against an Arab confederacy. Read what it says in Psalm 83, “Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God. For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones. They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance. For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee: The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah. Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison: Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth. Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna: Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession. O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind. As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire; So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm. Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O Lord. Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish: That men may know that thou, whose name alone is Jehovah, art the most high over all the earth.”
6) Israel struck Damascus in early December, targeting some weapons. This is a precursor to what is predicted in Isaiah 17:1 where it states, “The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.” The Syrian city Aleppo is now in ruins due to the Russian bombings, it is predicted Israel will destroy Damascus, is it next?

7) God continues to intervene for His sovereign nation of Israel. In November, he sent a pillar of a cloud of dust and rain to push back ISIS on Israel's border. He who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps Psalm 121, “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”The cloud of dust and rain stayed right at the border and did not cross into Israel.

8) There was stage-setting for the Tribulations natural disasters which will be far worse than anything the world has known thus far. Publications called many events "record setting," "unprecedented," and "of biblical proportion." The Bible calls them "birth pangs. Matthew 24:7-8,"For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” Ancient players are set now in the middle east with Russia, Iran, and the rest of the Arab confederates staging to ready itself for attack. The preparation is quite evident if you look for it.

9) The war on cash intensified. A few nations are banning cash and this will eventually lead to "Mark of the Beast" accounting. Technology was introduced that enables the total payment of goods and services using only an embedded chip. Gradually we are moving away from real money heading for a cashless society.

Currently, Sweden’s central bank Riksbank claims that cash transactions make up for a mere 2% of the value of all payments made throughout the country and it’s estimated that by 2020 this figure could drop even further to 0.5%. The bank also claims that out of all the purchases made in shops, barely 20% of the transactions are paid for with cash.
The move towards a cashless country is mirrored through the Swedish people’s attitude towards physical money. It is now impossible to buy a ticket on the Stockholm Metro with cash and retailers are legally allowed to refuse coins and notes if they choose to. Alongside this, around 900 of Sweden’s 1600 bank branches no longer keep cash and won’t accept cash deposits.
10) Gog-Magog players are getting ready. Russia is the new power player in the Mideast thanks to America's absence. So is Iran. Turkey is in chaos and looking to Russia for support. These are the three primary players in Ezekiel 38-39, although other nations will participate. This war comes three and one half years into the Tribulation, after the Psalm 83 War which takes place before the tribulation.

11) Europe is in a meltdown--setting the unstable stage for the arrival of the Antichrist out of Europe. Its godless culture welcomes all things dark and occultic. This is where Aleister Crowley head of Satan's church emerged in the late thirties that Hitler embraced.

Their refugee policy has thrown the continent into chaos. It will welcome a "Mr. Fix-It" to calm the storm. On June 1 they had a literal Satanic ceremony as they dedicated the Gotthard Base Tunnel in Switzerland. European leaders cheered this.

The embrace by Angela Merkel of the refugees has now fallen out of favor, she is predicted to fail next election cycle, the far right has now gained momentum with the Neo-nazi movement far out front and gaining in popularity. Sound familiar?

12) The season of mocking the Lord's return intensified. The Christian publication "Christian Today" scorned the Lord's return and said a "zombie apocalypse" was more likely. Yes you heard that right. How can this publication call itself Christian when it denies Christ’s second coming? The mocking of our Lord continues in the media on a daily basis. I myself was accosted by what I thought was a dear friend who turned out to be an atheist who could hardly wait to bash me for my beliefs. These trolls today seem to be everywhere.

13) The predicted rise of evil continues as foretold in II Timothy 3:13. A new term was introduced in late 2016: "Spirit Cooking." As defined on Google spirit cooking’ seems to be a piece of performance art, using what appears to be animal blood to write out how to connect with spirits. It also includes spreading the “blood” around a room and on top of some sort of statue. Is it “satanic” in nature as some have said, coming from Aleister Crowley himself from back in the day. Sinister Satanism is on the rise.

It is too dark to write about but you can Google all the information if you like. We don't recommend it for sensitive people. It is borne out of the occult followers of Satanist Aleister Crowley and it would have entered the White House and Oval Office had Hillary Clinton won. This may be the biggest reason the Left lost as many in the Clinton campaign were cheerleaders for this evil.

14) The run-up to the lawlessness in the Tribulation has begun. There was post-election rioting with the promise of much more to come -- all a blatant rejection of Donald J. Trump. Barack Obama was the most lawless president in U.S. history. He even told illegals they could vote with no consequences. Now the Left is making daily comments about assassinating Donald Trump. These type of threats of hate speech will surely be shot down when Trump enters the White House.

15) The gay agenda has turned blatant. Many major corporations promoted this with their national advertising. The "days of Noah" have returned as predicted by Jesus. As Billy Grahams dasughter said, “If God punished Sodom and Gomorrah for its sins and does not punish America, he will then owe an apology to Sodom & Gomorrah. The transgender agenda also flourished. In both cases Target led the way with promotion.

16) The predicted rise in the persecution of Christians and Jews intensified. At the same time, some pastors were forced to turn over sermons for inspection in America and Christian businesses were hammered for trying to stand for righteousness. Yet Islam is protected and no condemnation can be given while 95% of terrorists are muslim.

17) For most of these to play out required the prophesied rise in strong delusion (II Thess. 2:10-12). Those who take delight in mocking and rejecting God, He will condemn, confuse their thinking causing their lives to be chaotic, and cause them to believe fables when the truth is self evident. And they do! Remember, global warming is a greater danger than radical Islam. Today it would seem the Mad Hatter is in charge. The truth is global warming is not happening because the planet has been cooling for the past 13 years.

18) Technology giants came against righteousness once again. From Facebook to YouTube to Google to Twitter, their progressive agenda rejected a conservative and Christian message. The Christian film "I Am Not Ashamed" had their YouTube trailer taken down one year in advance, marginalizing ticket sales.

Things are not falling apart -- they are falling into place. Can you hear the hoof beats of the four horsemen of the apocalypse in the distance?

I won't be silent about the signs of the times. If Jesus chastised the Pharisees for not knowing the signs of His first coming, why would we not be expected to be aware of today's apocalyptic signs?

Rise up, wake up and look up! Jesus to coming! Maranatha…………….

First of all the country calling itself Israel is not Israel. There are some Jews living there, but that doesn't invalidate what the bible clearly teaches. Judah was the fourth born of 12 brothers-Gen.32:24 thru 28.America is one of the" nations" of Israel; easily proved. Judah was at war with Israel recorded in 11 Kings 16:5. There are two antichrists spoken of in Rev. 13; not one. I see the same partial truths constantly. Satan has deceived the whole world and most especially those who think they follow biblical prophesy. I quoted just a few scriptures that record the truth about Israel. There are many more. If you can't except what the bible clearly teaches stop teaching others false doctrine; which is by the way, all part of the great falling away.

You will have to elaborate on your viewpoints in more detail if you want to have them accepted on OPP. I don't recall two antichrists ever being taught to me in Revelation/prophecy class. Also this is the first that I have ever heard of America being another Israel although I have heard it being refereed to as Baal before in the Harbinger.

GRB, the only place America is mentioned anywhere in Scripture is in JerUSAlem, beyond this NO WHERE. Please try and get over the CHOSEN People of GOD ! Replacement theology will only get you a very hot seat.

My Bible says that the Lord Jesus Christ will rule the entire world for a thousand years from Jerusalem, end of story. Quit making people live in fear when deliverance is so near. We're supposed to live by faith NOT fear.
