And yet they still have stage 5 smog alerts. You're such an idiot. Smoggy days, such as the one in your photo, are caused by a temperature inversion. Damn, but you are so stupid.

Where did you get this meme Pete? I googled “2016 picture los angeles smog” and came up with this. There were MANY others.

Pete-replace "1954" with "Yesterday" and your post will be more accurate. LA is still one of the most polluted city in America !!! For some reason "smog" ignores environmental regulations and rolls right on in. Good Luck America !!!

Regulations are a balancing act , over regulation is suicide . We can not and should not regulate every damn aspect of life and that seems to be the motive of the left .
So ,, let's just speculate a little . Why would the left want open borders to flood the country with god knows who from god knows where ? More people = more pollution .
Why not help and promote countries developing safe vibrant economies , after all I bet most would prefer to stay in their homeland and culture .. just saying ..

More people = more pollution equals more stricter regulations for those whom want to pack a 10 mile area. Small bet, remove all the illegals but you cut the smog.

"Chicken little" and the "snake oil" salesmen who try to make money by selling "shares of the Golden Gate bridge" will unfortunately always be with us.

Recon,

I like you conclusion but not your reasoning..

Most of the problem the LA smog is so persistent is due to geographical location. Mountains to the east and north result in a bowl effect that holds air in the LA basin... little circulation to remove the suspended particles..

think Denver has a similar problem... With most of the smog still resulting from cars and trucks, an air inversion will make the day worst, but is not the cause..

No one is against reasonable regulations, however, the number of regulations we have place a unreasonable burden on businesses which stifle job growth and the economy. There is a long list of regulations that we could get rid of. Like the carbon tax. We don't need them.

It's also an anomaly of the older photo caused by focusing on the car in the for ground rendering the background out of focus. The newer photo is a panoramic shot with a horizon focus.
