Hate and Fear: the New American values

I am getting tired with myself getting tired with responding or just reading many posts here. "Grow up!" I command myself but it does not relieve the sadness at what I have read. So much ugliness. It doesn't have to be this way. Disagreement does not have to mean conflict; it should mean getting a broader look at the topic. Yet we are either at each others' throats at the connivance of our so-called leaders or sickeningly jubilant, a dark joy, over the fall or trip of our relegated enemy. Disturbing. We are becoming complacent puppets.

How do we cut those strings? In what will seem like the most deplorable way possible: we look to compromise. We listen instead of attack. We act as Devil's advocates against our own firm and righteous outlooks. We offer an Olive Branch where we have gotten spit and disrespect. We earnestly search for truth in what we would normally take as propaganda or lies. Or America dies from our hubris.

You're not exactly a good example of doing this yourself. I don't see you practice what you preach there, rummy. You still have a perchance of talking a good game of being civil and understanding while slapping us with a damn gauntlet with your hypocrisy in another thread or making that 180 like you have in the past. Stop it already!

You know I tried offering an olive branch to my leftist adversaries a few times and each had the same result of them burning the olive branch while dehumanizing me, twisting my views and being called everything under the sun in the process. I’ve had more than enough of my share trying to be cool and collected but after a while I threw civility out the window. I expect only hostility from their ilk and they shall receive as such.

A simple challenge, ghost, should be easy: present those so-called where I did this: "You still have a perchance of talking a good game of being civil and understanding while slapping us with a damn gauntlet with your hypocrisy in another thread or making that 180 like you have in the past" I do not want to assume you are another personality of a lady apparently sworn to get me, but who knows; she has no scruples I know of.
You guys become some predictable and boring in these accusations that you can never back up. I only know it as a conservative gambit.

I reject this challenge and anyone with sense should reject the challenges of a Machiavellian manipulator and a hypocrite such as yourself, rumiterd.

You say we people, I assume the smart ones here who haven't fallen into your manipulatory traps, we can't back up these claims against you? All people need to do is look up your profile and look up your thread and posting history and it won't take long to figure you out.

I don't have anywhere the number of posts that some of you have. One thing that I have found, after agreeing with Rumitoid to not get personal while we may disagree. He has always been polite and on subject.
This one subject that I completely agree with, I enjoy a good spirited discussion and sometimes agreeing to disagree. It really is sad to read some 1st and 2nd grade posts that pop up on occasions.

Your statements confirm your biased attacks, thank you.

Can you not understand the angst caused by this president. When he won, the first thing out of his mouth was exactly that; We Won, there will be no compromise. He dictated the path we have traveled since then. I have listened very carefully to what he says and observed what he does and they are worlds apart. My search for truth travels a different road from yours because we have different perceptions of where we need to go and what we need to do in order to get there.. I think and hope that we both have the same end in focus and that is to do what's best for our country. We have had these discussions you seek and what has changed. Nothing. I don't see you changing and I know for sure am not so where does that actually leave us. You would say we can talk it over and decide; your vocation allows you to think that. I say that will accomplish nothing. This country is divided now more than at any time since the Civil War and equally so, about 50/50. Thomas Jefferson said " The tree of liberty from time to time must be refreshed by the blood of patriots and tyrants." I would hope it does not come to that but if it does my prediction is the left will fire the first shot so to speak because they will not give up the inroads they feel they have made under the current President. This president won on Hope and Change. The only thing that has changed is we have lost our heritage of Hope.

Where has compromise gotten us?

Cheese and rice man, you can't believe a single thing that comes out of the presidents mouth. You can say sure we'll compromise and he will never ever live up to his promises EVER !

It's time to throw down the gauntlet and say enough !!!!

Believe me look up his post history and get towards pages into the 30s on up to the 50s and beyond. From there you can see where he consistently flipflops.

He'll talk a good game like he does here on this thread then does a complete 180 somewhere else. The man is a hypocrite and the more people see that the less credibility he deserves.

Good hunting.
