Today is the 75th anniversary of the Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, in which 2403 Americans were killed, 1178 were wounded, and four battleships were sunk. The attack commenced a little before 8 AM on a Sunday morning. Wikipedia has a pretty good synopsis.

For the USA haters who castigate us for nuking Hiroshima and Nagasaki, another fact which has nothing to do with today. Someone said here on OPP that the US embargo of Japan led to the attack. They forget what led to the embargo...... the Japanese invasion of China in which at least one million Chinese civilians were systematically and deliberately murdered in a terror campaign, and the countless millions more who were wounded, maimed, raped and robbed. For you idiots who bemoan our use of A bombs, bear in mind that the total Japanese casualties from these attacks were a little over 200,000. A fraction of what they did to the Chinese. Add to that an estimated one million Allied casualties had the land invasion of Japan taken place, and untold millions of Japanese civilians who would have fought to the death or committed suicide.

I'm sure we were destined for joining the conflict even though the politicians were avoiding it, and since we were trying to avoid the bloodshed, I think that God didn't shelter us from Japan attacking us. I think that the politicians ignored the warning signs on the pending attack, and thanks to the Officers the aircraft carriers weren't at Pearl Harbour. If they were I'm not sure that the Allies could have come out Victorious.

Thank GOD that Americans at that time had more guts, more love of country, more integrity, more intelligence, more of EVERYTHING GOOD than exists today. If Japan bombed us today, it would probably take several months to get all liberals' opinion as to whether or not we should return fire, then it would take another few months to get the military ready and up to par after Congress debated for several weeks the feasibility of our winning/losing the war.

I have so much appreciation for Americans of yesteryear and so much disdain for Americans of today that it would be funny were it not so tragic that the nation has fallen so far into the gutter. I am sure there was some "progressivism" back then, but nothing can compare with the snowflake citizenry of today. Everyone can, in my humble opinion, blame the '60s hippy invasion and devolution, the mass introduction of illegal drugs, and Hanoi Jane Fonda for what our country has become......a wimpy nasty weak failing nation seriously raped by the political left that suffers no morality, no goodness.

How can we make American citizens patriotic to our Country, it seems that some "new citizens" are more patriotic then most "democratic" citizens. I know it's not possible but I would like to see the "on earth as it is in heaven" scenario here in this God Blessed Country. These low level traitor either by design or accident are really dragging us down in the moral aspect as also in the financial scene, example if they can't pay for it, pass a bond so the can have it now. To me it's disheartening and disgusting.

If y'all want to read the definitive account of the attack on Pearl Harbor, read Gordon W. Prange's At Dawn We Slept: The Untold Story of Pearl Harbor. Prange spent 37 years researching this book during which he interviewed every surviving Japanese officer, pilot, and government official and every American involved, both military, government official and civilian. This is the most thorough documentation in existence, it has no equal.
