THE BUFFETT RULE - GREAT IDEA!

Warren Buffett is asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise.

In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed around. This is more than a great idea! Please read to the end.

The Way It Is Now

Salary of retired US Presidents .. . . . .. . . . . .. . ..........$180,000 FOR LIFE
Salary of retired House/Senate members .. . . . .. . . . $174,000 FOR LIFE
Salary of retired Speaker of the House .. . . . .. . . . . . .$223,500 FOR LIFE
Salary of retired Majority / Minority Leaders . . .. . . . $193,400 FOR LIFE
Average Salary of a teacher . . .. . . . .. . . . . .. .. . . . . . .$40,065
Average Salary of a deployed Soldier . . .. . . .. . . . . . . $38,000

I think we found where the cuts should be made!

Warren Buffett, in a recent interview with CNBC, offers one of the best quotes about the debt ceiling: "I could end the deficit in five minutes," he told CNBC. "You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election".

The 26th Amendment ( granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds ) took only three months and eight days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971 - before computers, e-mail, cell phones, etc. Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven ( 7 ) took one ( 1 ) year or less to become the law of the land - all because of public pressure. Warren Buffett is asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise. In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed around.

The BUFFETT Rule - THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!

Congressional Reform Act of 2017

1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office.

2. Congress ( past, present, & future ) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.

3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 3/1/17. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. Congress made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and go back to work.

We must support this - pass it on and let's see if Congress/Senate understand what people pressure is all about. If each person contacts a minimum of twenty (20) people, then it will only take three days for most people ( in the U.S. ) to receive the message. Don't you think it's time? If you agree, pass it on.

Hurray-Hurray-Hurray for Buffett. This should had been passed 50 years ago. Social Security would never been in jeopardy. I would like to see any politician live on $16,000 a year like us on S.S. $28.000 is the poverty. Last year we did not get a raise in S.S because the price of gas did not go very high. This year only got $4.00 dollars a month raise and we have to split that with our insurance carries. Has anyone given this idea to donald? theunknown

Absolutely, theun. Serving in the {federal} government should be a chore done much like Jury Duty. Low pay and small benefits for "commander's" and leaders, and is entirely necessary to get America back to the intentions of our Creator {with the mortal help of our Founding Fathers}, way back when. "Have I not yet done enough for my country," was General George Washington's reply when {after the Revolutionary War} he was asked to be "King" of America." General George set his "Patriots" straight on "Kings," and "America," and "WE" haven't had THAT "King" problem again until quite recently. Military school and/or military service should be a prerequisite for POTUS, Advisors, Congress, Cabinet, Intelligence Office and Czars, and "strict limits," as Mr. Buffett suggested. Now all "WE" have to do is take away Warren's train set so "WE" can more safely and more economically "PIPE" fossil fuels around America rather than "training" it; and thus put a few $billion into America's infrastructure projects rather than Warren's stock portfolio. Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmm. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DONALD J. TRUMP!!! GOD BLESSED AMERICA!!! Now; "DRAIN THAT SWAMP!!!"

I've been saying that for years! Looking at the Federal budget, shows that the second highest number ( in dollars ) belongs to - the Federal retirement system, which is only 1% less than Defense spending. We spend more on Federal retirement, which covers politicians, judges, prosecutors, and civil service employees, than we do on military retirement and Social Security combined - but the politicians keep telling you that SS is the problem. Here's the thing: everyone who works contributes to SS through withholding, money that is invested in the individuals account under their SS#, and receives that money back as payments when they reach retirement age, or are disabled, this money is in addition to Federal tax paid. Politicians do not contribute anything from their pay - making their retirements 100% taxpayer funded.

In addition to their salary, which they get for life, they get virtually unlimited travel at our expense. They get per diem every day, they have offices ( some more than 1 ) which are paid for by tax payers as well as the people to staff them. Politicians need not spend a dime of their salary - yet they still insist that what YOU are paid, using your own money, is what is bankrupting the country. For too long, the people have drank that koolaid.
